    Introduction
    1) On the date on 30/11/2021 the maintenance dept. has received an RFR for
    the mentioned vehicle with lack of ability to start up the engine.
    2) By inquiring the last Relevant failure history, it was found that it was
    reported an engine failure due to what was considered as a driver abuse
    since about 10 days before the current failure, which was an engine failure
    due to overheat and a cylinder head gasket was replaced.
    3) Due to the point no. 2 the decision was taken to pull out the vehicle from
    the operation and to be mobilized via a care holder truck from Luxor to
    Cairo to behold overall vehicle technical condition.

    2) Pistons rings (Set of 12) Fig. (7,8).
    3) Pistons Liners (Set of 4) Fig. (3,12).

    5) Plain Bearing size 40 micron (located in the Big end of the connecting rod)

    Damage Analysis
    1) Due to the previous Engine Over heat, the following parts was damaged.
     Cylinder Head
     Pistons
     Pistons rings
     Pistons Liners
    2) Due to Severe decrease in engine oil, the following parts was damaged.
     Plain Bearing.
     Engine Oil Pump.
     Connecting Rods 2 Pcs.
     Connecting Rod bushings.
     Oil pressure Valve.
     Crankshaft Lower Bed (Lower Block).
     Crank Shaft
    It is carousal to understand that broken piston rings leads to the required
    decrease of engine oil to make the mentioned point no. 2 happen within few
    hours of operation and the main reason of the damage emphasizing. This
    indicates harsh abuse from the driver and lack of technical follow up from the
    supervisor.

    Corrective Action Scenarios


    1) Short Block Replacement
    This solution costs about 50 K EGP excluding the governmental procedures
    and fees. Taking in consideration that the lifetime of this system is
    unknown.
    2) Replacement of the previously mentioned parts which would cost around
    41 K EGP. Which is considered relatively high in comparison to the standard
    engine overhauling. However, this Solution would guarantee the engine
    lifetime restoration.
