LIFE CYCLE AND GOAL SETTING Activity Output

Iringan, Juliezel S,

MODULE ACTIVITIES

1. Using the graph below, plot the most significant events in each stage of your
life which you think have shaped you become a better individual. You may
use drawings, pictures, emoticons and other images that will explain these
events. You may plot as many as you want, either good or not-so-good.
Synthesis:

Among the life stages, which do you think is your best stage and your worst stage?

• For me, the best life stages are early school age, early adolescence and late
adolescence. My worst stage is middle school age and for now late adolescence.

Why would you consider that stage as the best phase of your life?

• Early school age because that was the time that I always made new friends
because of the street games such as Chinese garter, luksong baka, tumbang
preso, pogs, tagu-taguan, and such. It is one of the times wherein I am very happy;
it is the time that I don’t have major problems, just studying and playing.
• Early adolescence: This is the time I involved myself in church activities wherein I
slowly developed my personality, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually
at a young age and learned some new things I had never done in my life before
entering this kind of activity. I also make friends with the right people who are
inclined to God. It becomes a strong foundation to strengthen our relationships
with each other and with God. I also did my best in academics so that I became
an honor student and made my parents proud.
• In late adolescence, this became the most challenging for me since I am involved
with church activities and studying at the same time. However, it somehow helps
me to manage my time and learn to prioritize things. I met people that I did not
expect to come and become my college friends. We always help each other out
academically, and we respect each other’s time.

What did you learn from the worst experience? How did you handle such experience?

• Middle school age, because this is the time where I experienced being bullied by
my classmates and my teacher also. I handled it by just laughing after the day I
was being bullied and letting it go, thinking that there are more years that I might
experience, and that it is just a test for me to learn from it and make my weakness
turn into my strength. I know this will help me become stronger in the future.
• In Late Adolescence, For the time being, I have no idea what to expect in the
future, but this may be my second worst experience because, as I begin college,
I am confronted with struggles, pressure, academic problems, and financial
problems all at the same time. I do not know what I am going to do with it, to the
point that I really wanted to give up on my course because it is a very challenging
course. However, I was able to overcome it with the help of my family and friends,
who stayed by my side offering advice and motivation to encourage me to
continue even if it gets difficult because it will shape me into a better person than
I was before.

PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT AND GOAL SETTING

Mission statements are designed to provide direction and thrust to an organization, an

enduring statement of purpose. A mission statement acts as an invisible hand that
guides the people in the organization.
Writing a personal mission statement offers the opportunity to establish what’s important
to you, and can help guide you toward a decision on a particular job, company, or
career field. It also enables one to chart a new course when they’re at a career
crossroads.

Steps for Developing a Personal Mission Statement

Step 1: Identify past successes.

Spend some time identifying four or five examples where you have had personal success in recent
years. These successes could be at work, in your community, at home, etc.

Finished Elementary and High School

Make new friends
Personality Development
Survive first year of my degree program

Step 2. Identify core values.

Develop a list of attributes that you believe identify who you are and what your priorities are.

Eager to learn
Doing my best at slow pace
Good listener

I am now focusing on the things and skills that I am not good about.

Step 3. Identify Contributions.

Make a list of the ways you could make a difference. In an ideal situation, how could you contribute
best to your country, your family, your future employer, and to your community?

For my country, first is to love my country by representing my country to whatever purpose that will
make my country proud, maybe in the future I will be known as good nurse from Philippines that is
working in different country.

For my family, I will make a difference through becoming the first licensed professional worker in my
family. There is no licensed professional worker in my family, so I wanted to be the first person and
make them proud.

For my employer, I wanted to become an asset and one of their best employees in their company or
institution, making them proud. I also wanted to do my best to become a good employee in the
future.

In my community, I will become a good role model for students, children, and others. It is one of the
best ways to try their best and to become a hard-working person. It is also to motivate them and
encourage them that there is no hard way to a person who has a good mindset.
Step 4. Identify goals.

Spend some time thinking about your priorities in life and the goals you have for yourself.

First, I wanted to change my habits to help me survive college, such as avoiding procrastination,
being lazy, and cramming. I also wanted to love myself. Next, I wanted to finish college and to show
off what I worked hard for; to get a diploma; and to become a licensed nurse in the future. Next, I
wanted to save money for myself and my family. Next, I wanted my family and relatives to
experience being in a different country just like what I promised myself. Lastly, I wanted to show
others that this is my dream, not to brag but to become an inspiration to my younger brother and
sister and to others.

Step 5. Write mission statement.

Based on the first four steps and a better understanding of yourself, begin writing your personal
mission statement.

My mission is to continue doing my best to become the best version of myself through helping and
serving people unconditionally and with integrity. I will live my life as a person who is God-fearing
and become an inspiration to my family and others.
