prescriptivists that whatever opinion others have about it, standard English is the correct English?
why?
ANSWER: Yes because it is refer to a specific geographical dialect of English or a dialect
favored by the most powerful and prestigious social group.
2. Is Philippine English one of the correct varities of English? Justify your answer.
ANSWER: I think yes, because Philippine English can be easily understand because some of
our English language is influence by the American and English is the second language we use
to communicate from other foreign countries.
3. Do you agree that people form judgements about someone based on his command of English or
the way he communicates English?
ANSWER: Yes, because some people are so judgemental even though you you have a mistake
or you are wrong grammar they will laugh and judge people. Other people thinks that
English is the basis of being intelligent because they tend to believe that a certain person
who talked fluently in English is intelligent. My teacher in science when I was in highschool
said that a mistake is to be corrected and not to be insulted.
4. Do you think the way you use English in text, emails or chats affects the kind of English you use
in academic writing ,such as reports and researchers or even business letter?
ANSWER: NO. because I have a little knowledge about the basic English.
