Mr. Long,
This communication is in response to your email correspondence of July 22, 2022, which is attached
hereto. You are seeking information/documents regarding the presence of Judge Robb’s dog,
Peaches, at District Court facilities. Responses to your questions are as follows:
1. Since you have previously indicated the Court is autonomous and doesn’t necessarily follow
county policy, what is the District Courts policy regarding dogs in the building? Please provide.
The District Court complies with all legal requirements pertaining to service animals as defined by the
American with Disabilities Act and Nevada statute. Emotional support animals may be permitted on a
case-by-case basis.
2. Did Judge Peck in fact have a dog named “Peaches” inside the building and what the status of
this dog initially and as time progressed (i.e. was it a pet initially and then a service animal?)
Please provide any documentation.
On unknown dates, Judge Robb did bring her dog, Peaches, to District Court facilities. The District Court
is not in possession of any documentation responsive to this request.
3. Was there any internal “petition” circulated supporting Judge Peck to have this dog inside the
building? Please provide any documentation.
The District Court is not in possession of any documentation responsive to this request.
4. Was the dog eventually “certified” as a therapy animal and if so what sort of disability or ailment
did this elected official have requiring such accommodations? Feel free to have Judge Robb
respond to this portion.
The District Court is not in possession of any documentation responsive to this request.
5. Was there a workmen’s comp claim filed for an employee who tripped over the dog gate used to
confine Peaches? We are not asking for names or dates so there is no risk your response would
identify a protected injured employee. Please provide redacted documents.
The District Court is not in possession of any documents responsive to this request. Washoe County Risk
Management processes workers compensation claims on behalf of the District Court. In preparing this
response, inquiry was made of Washoe County Risk Management to determine whether any claims had
been received related to the presence of Peaches in District Court facilities. According to the response
from Risk Management, no claims responsive to this request were received.
