First week of kindergarten
Day 1: September 8th 2021

 Greet students and parents or family members at


door with class list clipboard. If parents/family are
with them double check how student is going home.
Ask students to find their seat. Place students
backpack next to chair, and began eating breakfast.

 At their seat: when students are done eating they


may color a coloring page or draw a picture. (THEY
MAY NOT GET UP IN THIS MOMENT)

(Breakfast)

 In front of class, ask student to put their crayons


down and eyes on me wait to I have 100% eyes on
me. Introduce myself/tell them how many excited I
am.
 After breakfast is cleaned up have students listen to
afternoon announcements and their afternoon
pledge as well as their school pledge. Take them on a
school tour, and a classroom tour. Take class
attendance taken.
( Breakfast clean up)

 Clean tables pick up any trash off of the floor. Put
trash can and have students walk back to seat.
 Put on a teeth brushing song for kids and have
students get out toothbrush toothpaste and
mouthwash and brush there teeth for 15-20 seconds.
(Math)
 For math have students get out a clipboard and walk
around taking tally’s of all the shapes they see but
first before the students get into the activity’s make
sure students know the shapes there looking for and
how to make tally’s
(snack time)
 For snack time have students get their water bottle
and hand out students snack. When students are
done eating snack have them clean their spots put
their trash in the trash can and then have them come
to the carpet for read aloud time also known as story
time.
(Nap Time)
 Have students get their pillow and covers for nap
time put on some calming music and have students
rest for at-least 15-20 minutes
(language Art)
 For language arts students will listen to a read aloud
(recess)

 Ok time for recess so they can go outside and play on
the playground when they come back in have
students wash hands and use the bathroom, also put
on hand sanitizer grab lunch if they have one and if
students didn’t bring a lunch have them j ust go
ahead and line up to get ready for lunch.
 For recess time please keep in mind ( In
temperatures 13 degrees to 31 degrees, indoor
breaks should happen For wind-chills of 13 degrees
and below, you should move activities indoors and
outside of the cold as frostbite can set in very
quickly.) and also if weather temperatures hit 90
degrees or even the high 80 degrees as in 86 and so
don’t not take students outside!

 Lunch should last 20-30 minutes and once lunch is
over wait for students line up and take students to
the bathroom before coming back to the classroom

folder what each side means and explain their first

well as what day the folders need to be returned and
where to turn in folders and day the bags need to be
in by.

 For science have students look at the story elephant
and piggie “I really love slop” and then have them tell
you a time their friend or family had them try
something and they thought it would be nasty but it
tasted great.
(Centers)
 Put on a go noodle or some movement music and
have students play in centers suck as Legos, playdoh,
kitchen etc just tell them to have fun!
(Dismissal)
 For dismissal have students clean up centers and
then get their backpacks stack chairs and wait for the
end of the day announcements and then students
will be gone and that is the first day already
completed

have shape maginifer and students will be given a
sheet of paper explaining there mission which is to
look around the classroom and find where the
shapes and hidden and put them into the right
colored bin and once finished press the giant red
button on the wall and go get your tickets.

 For snack time have students get their water bottle
and hand out students snack. When students are
done eating snack have them clean their spots put

have looked at this video, give them some slime and
have them add stuff such as pompoms beads glitter
and more stuff like that to make their own slop. 😊

kitchen etc just tell them to have fun!

paper back. (students names will be called so have
sub on hand or a alterive so other students keep

with paper about this.)

Overview of Unit: This unit introduces the students
to world of writing. Routines and procedures for
Writers Workshop are introduced and student
quickly identify themselves as authors and

illustrators. Students are exposed to both narrative
and informational writing in this unit. In Topic 1
(Bend 1), your aim will be to introduce youngsters to
the writing workshop. “You are an author”, you’ll
say, and you’ll help youngsters understand how to
think up a topic, to draw it, and then to do their best
approximation of writing. You’ll also teach
youngsters how to go from finishing one piece to
starting another and to do this with some
independence.

 For science have look at push and pulling video then
have students rasie hand and tell you a time when
they push or pulled something then (have a achor
chart made) have sticky notes ready already written
and have students put it in the push or pull or both
side kind of like a bar diagram such as a s swing you
push it forward and gravity pulls it right back but use
easy to understand examples. Then have students
create their own. 😊

All About me bags


Welcome to first day and/or week of Kindergarten, I can hardly wait to get to
know each and every one of you guys, to help learn more about each other
students will share a bag with their classmate sometime this week. Please find
1-4 small items you would like to share about yourself and put it in your brown
bag. You can use anything school appropriate please do not bring the
following... pop its, fireworks, nerf guns, knives etc. Bring bag to school
anywhere between Monday and Friday to share with classmates.
