RITE General Information, Examination Schedule and Fees
Dear Doctors,
We would like to announce that the Live Test Construction Workshop will be cancelled due to
conflict of schedule. However, you can access the video presentation at the PCP LMS.
1. General Information
The Residents-In-Training Examination (RITE) is an examination that is administered by the
Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) Committee on RITE. This examination is a summative
assessment of the residents of the Internal Medicine Residency programs offered by the
accredited training institutions (ATIs) of the PCP. The objectives of the RITE are as follows:
a. Provide an objective measurement of knowledge in internal medicine among current residents-
in-training.
b. Provide individual residents a performance evaluation in the middle and at the end of their
current training level.
c. Provide the ATIs an independent snap-shot assessment on the performance of their residents
at each training level, and their entire resident staff.
d. Provide the ATIs a benchmark and a tool to further enhance their training programs
e. Provide the residents and the ATIs information on areas of strength and areas for improvement
based on disease-specific learning objectives.
The RITE is a 4-hour, 180 question examination. The examination consists of case-based multiple-
choice questions with one best answer. The examination is administered online using the PCP
Learning Management System (PCP LMS) and residents take the examination in their own training

institutions in a proctored environment. For 2022-2023, the exam will be administered two times,
August 2022 and December 2022.
Topics covered in these two examinations are non-overlapping. For each scheduled examination,
the residents of each training institution may register to any of the three available schedules. The
training officers of the ATIs must pre-arrange the schedules of the residents to ensure compliance
with existing health safety protocols and minimize impact on the ATIs’ clinical services.
Please note that starting 2022, the overall RITE performance of the trainees of the ATI will have an
impact on the accreditation score of the ATI.
2. Examination Schedules
Please assign your resident trainees in one of the three available schedules for both Examination
1 and 2. Once with assigned exam schedules, please ask your resident trainees to fill up the
information form following this link: https://forms.gle/r8MnVAgRCQ7mmB8Y6
Examinees who fail to sit on their scheduled examination must write a request for a new
examination schedule no later than 7 days from their original schedule. This letter of request for
new examination schedule must be endorsed by both the Chair and Training Officer of the ATI, and
emailed to the PCP RITE secretariat at [email protected]. Only one examination
schedule will be opened for all examinees who missed their original exam schedule.
The fee should be paid on or before 19 August, 2022, to any Union Bank with the
Account Name: Philippine College of Physicians. Please use the bills payment form:
Kindly send the list of examinees through e-mail with the attached validated bills payment form to
[email protected]. An original receipt will be issued to your institution.
Online payment can also be done thru the PCP Website. Once done, you will receive a confirmation
note of a successful transaction. Please send the confirmation note to
