Costpoint 7 Guide

Creating Requisitions to Costpoint for Long Lead items

Step 1 – Go to: Material  Procurement Planning  Purchase Requisitions  Manage Purchase Requisitions.

Step 2 –
1. Enter PO No. in “Requisition ID” Ex:
2. Tab over to “Approval Process” – Click on the dropdown menu, and Enter the PM
3. Enter Buyer: Ex: 4DLD - Derek (He usually only enters Large Tube PO’s)
4CAM – Curt Miller
4DD – Deanna Dietrich
Step 3 – Go to “Accounting Defaults”
1. Enter Project Number (Start by Typing in the project # Ex: T60576, Click on the “more values” to find your complete Project number

Enter the complete project number under “Project”


2. Enter: 5100-005 Under “Account” this will always be the same Account Number 5100-00
3. Enter the correct “Organization” number: Click on the dropdown menu and find the correct Org Number
Feedwater Heater - 55.340.10 Feedwater Heater (POC)
Condenser - 55.340.20 Condenser (POC)
IPX – One of the following:

IPX – You can find the correct Org number by going to: Projects – Project Setup – Project Master – Manage Project User Flow
Click on Query, then click on Form, you will see the correct org # under “Owning Org”

Step 4 – Go to “Other Information”


1. Enter todays date in “Requested Date”
2. Enter Ship to Address by using the dropdown menu: Will us either TEI-Joplin (if shipped to Joplin) or TEI-PO Body (shipped to Jobsite)

Step 5 – Go to “Enter Notes”


*This is used for any types of notes Buyer/Vendor needs to know (otherwise it can be skipped)
Ex: If you chose TEI-PO Body (enter the Jobsite Address) Another Ex: “Foreign Material Allowed, Domestic Preferred”

Skip “Assign PO Defaults” and “Security Requirements”


Step 6 – Enter Requisition Lines – Click on “New”

Go to:
1. “Misc Type” Enter “PP”
2. Go to “Description” Enter a brief description (limited Characters) Ex: SE Heads
3. Go to “Line Notes” Enter the complete description (No Character Limitations) Ex: Semi Elliptical Head per Drawing 20-1801-A43 R-0
4. Enter Commodity Code: Click on the dropdown Menu, “Query”, “Description” click “contains” and enter a very brief description, & pick the best one, and
click “Find”

5. Enter Quanity

If you need to split the Requisition Line by Units: Ex: B01, B11, B21
Click on “Accounts”
Click “New”
Go to “Allocation” and change to correct % (Ex: B01 and B11 = 50%)
Click on “Copy”

Once you click on Copy, it will enter another row, manually go int and change the B01, to B11
Continue until all your Units are entered.

Click on “Hdr Text”


Click “New”
“Sequence” Enter one, and so forth
Enter the following items under “Text Code”

You are done. Highlight/Copy the Requisition Number


Go to: Materials / Purchase Requisitions / Print Purchase Requisitions
