Components of Your Application

Application Form. Contained within the online prospectus. 2. Application Fee. Please include a demand draft in favour of Whistling Woods International Limited Applicants residing within India should submit Rs. 500. Applicants residing outside India should submit US$15. 3. Attested / Notarised copy of transcripts / certificates / mark sheets from all secondary and post-secondary educational institutions that you have attended. This should include your 12th standard or equivalent (IB, A Levels, HSC) transcripts. Un-attested copies will not be accepted. Please do not send character certificates, certificates of achievement, class awards etc, unless you have mentioned these as part of your extracurricular activities on the application form. If your 12th standard marks have not yet been released, include a note stating this and provide your 10th and 11th grade mark sheets. If your application is successful, your enrolment will be conditional upon your 12th standard results being provided to the Institute. 4. Attested / Notarised copy of your proof of age, such as a legible copy of passport, drivers license or birth certificate. Un-attested copies will not be accepted. 5. 3 passport size photographs with white background. Please provide recent, passport-sized, colour photographs with a white background. Photographs with colour backgrounds will not be accepted. 6. Personal Statement. We require a Personal Statement. This document (in English, of at least 400 words, in 12 point font) must be submitted on a CD / DVD with your application. It must be entirely your own writing. Please dont include quotes. We strongly encourage you to use all 400 words to explain: Your creative influences, your reason to enter the media industry, your motivation for wanting to enter a film institute and what you hope to achieve in your career. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What skills and experience do you feel you need to gain to be proficient in your field of choice? NOTE: Personal Statement must be submitted on CD / DVD

Admission Policy
histling Woods International, Institute for Film, Television & Media Arts, selects applicants suited for the intensive training which it provides. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 12th standard/A-Levels or equivalent. The applicants talent, creativity and commitment demonstrated in the contents of the application and the potential to succeed in the programme are factors that determine acceptance. Work experience and/or education in the area of study are an asset but are not required. The Admissions Panel evaluates applications for originality, clarity, personal insight and artistic merit and looks for those applicants who demonstrate a committed attitude, self-motivation and a well-rounded background. Acceptance is determined by the comparative quality of applicants for each programme. Whistling Woods International administers a selection process over two stages: 1. Candidates should complete the application form and submit requisite materials. All applications will be assessed by a Review Committee comprised of faculty members. 2. Those applicants selected by the committee proceed to the interview round. This will consist of an in-person interview where you will need to discuss your motivation to join WWI, your knowledge of media & communication and any experience that you may have.

Successful applicants will be selected on the basis of both their application materials and their interview performance. Letters of offer will be posted and students will be informed of their selection by telephone and e-mail. Applicants must be fluent in English as courses will be conducted in English. Basic computer literacy is a prerequisite for all WWI courses. If you have no previous experience with computers, we recommend you acquaint yourself with simple internet, e-mail, Windows and Microsoft Office or similar programs usage. Please do not write your name in any part of your Personal Statement to ensure fairness and impartiality. All applications are reviewed anonymously, with no visible name details. We prefer to receive your Personal Statement on CD. Submitting your work in this manner will allow it to be processed faster, decreasing the waiting period for you to receive your results. We encourage you to make copies of all your application materials as applications and portfolios will not be returned to applicants.
