Admission Policy
histling Woods International, Institute for Film, Television & Media Arts, selects applicants suited for the intensive training which it provides. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 12th standard/A-Levels or equivalent. The applicants talent, creativity and commitment demonstrated in the contents of the application and the potential to succeed in the programme are factors that determine acceptance. Work experience and/or education in the area of study are an asset but are not required. The Admissions Panel evaluates applications for originality, clarity, personal insight and artistic merit and looks for those applicants who demonstrate a committed attitude, self-motivation and a well-rounded background. Acceptance is determined by the comparative quality of applicants for each programme. Whistling Woods International administers a selection process over two stages: 1. Candidates should complete the application form and submit requisite materials. All applications will be assessed by a Review Committee comprised of faculty members. 2. Those applicants selected by the committee proceed to the interview round. This will consist of an in-person interview where you will need to discuss your motivation to join WWI, your knowledge of media & communication and any experience that you may have.
Successful applicants will be selected on the basis of both their application materials and their interview performance. Letters of offer will be posted and students will be informed of their selection by telephone and e-mail. Applicants must be fluent in English as courses will be conducted in English. Basic computer literacy is a prerequisite for all WWI courses. If you have no previous experience with computers, we recommend you acquaint yourself with simple internet, e-mail, Windows and Microsoft Office or similar programs usage. Please do not write your name in any part of your Personal Statement to ensure fairness and impartiality. All applications are reviewed anonymously, with no visible name details. We prefer to receive your Personal Statement on CD. Submitting your work in this manner will allow it to be processed faster, decreasing the waiting period for you to receive your results. We encourage you to make copies of all your application materials as applications and portfolios will not be returned to applicants.
