Content: Exercise for Fitness


Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of fitness and exercise in optimizing one’s health
as a habit; as requisite for physical activity assessment performance and as a career opportunity
Performance Standard: The learner leads fitness events with proficiency and confidence resulting in
independent pursuit and in influencing other positively

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the session, the students should be able to:
1. Distinguish aerobic from muscle- and bone-strengthening activities (PEH11FH-Ia-1)

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Content: Exercise for Fitness


B. Reference: Physical Education and Health TG, pp. 1-5
C. Materials: Pictures, Visual Aids

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer and checking of attendance
2. Reading of objectives
B. Motivation
 Ask students on what are the physical activities they have done this week? Let them
write on the board.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
o Divide the class into groups.
o Each group will classify the activities written on the board into:

Aerobic Activities Muscle- and Bone-Strengthening Activities

2. Analysis
o Ask students the following questions:
 What have you observed in the activities per column?
 What is the benefit of these activities?
3. Abstraction
o Give inputs on:
 Physical Activity
 Aerobic Activities and its Guidelines
 Muscle- and Bone-Strengthening Activities
4. Application
o Create a simple aerobics. Performance will be rated with the following criteria:
creativity-10 pts., energy-5 pts., teamwork-5 pts.

IV. EVALUATION
 Distinguish aerobic from muscle- and bone-strengthening using the venn diagram.
