Interest Ability and Preferences
• Finds difficulties to communicate with words and can only
speak few words and gestures.
• Gets frustrated if questions asked repeatedly.
• Don’t like crowded space.
• Enjoys outing which improves her communication skill.
• Likes to see her family once a month.
• Good at drawing and understand most of what people say
to her.
Goals
• To maintain her health and fitness.
• To increase her independency.
• To improve communication and social skills.
• To have more control over her life.
Ways to assist Clients
• Work closely with clients to identify their interest.
• Use strength based support which involves
acknowledging the clients strength. This approach
helps to see their disability as being a feature to
interact between individual and community.
• Link with social networking as it helps individual to
decrease stress and anxiety.
