Education
The Chevening programme requires applicants to have completed all components of an
undergraduate degree qualification by the time they submit an application for Chevening. This
degree should enable them to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is
typically equivalent to an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree in the UK.
To start this section, click ‘open’ and complete separate entries for each undergraduate and
postgraduate (if applicable) qualification held, starting with the highest qualification first. Please
upload your university transcripts and/or degree certificates (as one merged document) if available.

Work Experience
A Chevening Scholarship requires you to have at least two years’ work experience at the time of
submitting your application. Work experience may include full-time, part-time, voluntary and
internship positions.
To start this section, click ‘open’ and complete separate entries for each full-time, part-time,
voluntary and/or internship work experience you have had, starting with the most recent. Please only
include up to fifteen of your most recent work experiences. You will not be able to submit your
application if you exceed this number.
You will need to have the start and end date of each past employment period and the number of
hours you were contracted to work per week.
Your entries will be calculated automatically by multiplying the number of weeks worked by the
number of hours worked per week. For this calculation, a working week comprises 35-60 hours and
a working year comprises 40-50 weeks. Anything that exceeds the upper limit for full-time
employment will be deemed ineligible.
If you are currently in employment the hours for that role will be calculated up to the deadline for the
award.
Are you currently employed in full or part-time work, or a voluntary or internship role?

It is essential that you research and identify three different courses before submitting your
Chevening application. These can be either:
You are expected to apply to these courses as early as possible and you will need to cover any
costs incurred when applying to the universities. Note that you will need to apply directly for your
selected course via the university. Your Chevening application does not constitute an application for
your chosen courses. Please visit the course finder for the full list of master’s programmes.
Please note that there will be no opportunity to amend these course choices. Therefore, we
recommend that you list courses to which you feel confident you will gain entry.
Chevening applies a tuition fee cap of £18,000 to MBA courses. If you select an MBA course, you
will be expected to fund the remainder of the fees over the £18,000 cap.
If you cannot find your chosen course on our course finder, please check that it meets the
Chevening criteria. If you feel the course is eligible, visit the course finder on the website and submit
an enquiry containing the university name, course name and course URL. All the information you
need is on this page. Note that course queries must be submitted no later than Thursday 31
October, 12 midday GMT to be considered ahead of applications closing.
