Article Review

The article under review mainly written on recruitment and selection process. The main purpose
this article was to understand recruitment and selection process. The article tried to assess the
relationship between age and recruitment satisfaction by raising a focal argument which are all
about the recruitment source and selection process being implemented and selection process
association with age.

The article begun with forwarding a definition about recruitment and selection, the types of
recruitment involved in HR undertakings, i.e. internal and external and adequate briefing as been
given on both types of recruitments. The article also revealed the purpose of recruitment process.
The article also discussed about selection and in doing so, steps involved in selection process is
also well identified. The article also addressed selection as a separate concept and also
mentioned every step involved in selection process.

The article employed descriptive research type in describing primary data collected through
questionnaire. Whereas, secondary data for the article was gathered from published reports,
internet, and intranet, etc. The study was conducted on sample of 100 population size using
convenience sampling technique. Percentage and chi-square test were used as instrument to
measure the study.

Strengths and Weaknesses

One of eth strength of this article is that the study identified the sources of recruitment which is
mentioned in one of its objectives. Additionally, the study revealed the which source of
recruitment and selection process most suitable which can be taken as a suggestion.

Coming in to its weaknesses, first the author should have adopted explanatory analysis in
identifying the relationship among variables which seems to me=ore convenient way. The other
is that the study didn’t achieve all of its objectives. Adequate supporting theory never been given
by the author to the variables mentioned in the table.
Lessons Learnt

We were able to learn that scientific articles are more of generalized view of the subject matter
rather than addressing al possible related concepts. We also leant we have to be specific to each
content that we include in such papers as it doesn’t allow us to say too much. Such articles are
very in improving our analyzing capacity.
