Ans : Five salient features of the Indian Constitution are : i) Written Constitution: It was drafted &enacted by the Constituent Assembly. ii) The Lengthiest Constitution : It is a detailed Constitution III) Federal System: Administrative powers have been decentralized & subjects are divided between the Union Govt. & State Govt. IV) Independent & Integrated Judiciary: Judiciary is an independent & equally available for all. V) Parliamentary Form of Govt : All decisions taken through democratic system . 3. Mention any five purposes which the Constitution of India serves towards strengthening democracy. Ans : Five purposes for strengthening democracy are : I) Political System: It tells about the political system in the country. II) Ideals : It also tells ideals of the country for the citizens of the country III) National Interest: it protects our national interest. IV) Decision Making: It provides guidelines for helping in the decision making. V) Basic Structure: The basic structure cannot be easily changed. 4. India is Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, democratic, republic. Ans : Sovereign: India is free from external controls & interference. Socialist: Socialism is one of the national goals.
