ENGINEERING, ALPHA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, Bangalore, hereby declare that
the internship report entitled “DESIGN OF ROAD” embodies the details of Internship work carried
out independently during 7th semester vacations, under the esteemed guidance, of Mrs. SHOBINI
RAMESH, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil engineering ACE, Bangalore and submitted
in the partial fulfilment of the requirements for the award of the degree of BACHELOR OF
ENGINEERING IN CIVIL ENGINEERING by the Visvesvaraya Technological University during

PWD INTRODUCTION
• In the early days of public works in British India, P.W.D. was responsible for construction and maintenance of building and
roads and irrigation projects like canals, dams and reservoirs etc.

• The management of Public Works Department during this period was not at all systematic and was under the control of
Military Board of Imperial Government.

• But the arrangement did not prove to be much effective. Drawing attention of the Government to the unsatisfactory
management and state of affairs in public works, the Court of Directors of the East India Company, in early 1850, instituted
a Commission each of the presidencies for investigation.

• The order became effective in December, 1850 and the Bengal Commission submitted its report in March, 1851. The
members of the Commission were unanimous on the inability of the Military Board in the management of the public works
department.

• Flexible pavement are design on the basis of several stages:


QUALITY CONTROL

Quality control or QC for short, is a process by which entities review the quality of
all factors involved in production. This approach place an emphasis on three aspects
Quality Control Test:
1). Individual Material(Soil, Gravel, Aggregate, Binder)
2). Mixes (Gradation of Aggregates, Mix Proportion, Mixed Design Properties)
During Construction Process:
1). Spreading
2). Segregation
3). Temperature ,Mixing, Laying, Rolling
SAFETY

• WHY SAFETY IS SO IMPORTANT?


• Safety is such term which takes care of human at work field. Safety is only thing
which we have to remember must from the super starting to marvelous ending of
any project.

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT


CONCLUSION

At the site was a complete different thing. It was a fantastic


experience on whole.
