rectified in the site, housekeeping, shifting of
mivan components.
4th week Molding, curing, gathering information about site, test conducted on
reinforcement and cement and report making.
2.2 LEAKAGE CHECK
The bund must be constructed of a compatible material capable of containing the liquid being
stored. A common error found in the industry is storing corrosive liquids in a steel bund
which is highly likely to corrode and leak over time.

Fig 2.3 leakage checking

2.3 RAPID MOISTURE TEST IN BASEMENT
This test is done to determine the water content in soil by calcium carbide methods per IS:
2720 (Part II) – 1973. It is a method for rapid determination of water content from the gas
pressure developed by the reaction of calcium carbide with the free water of the soil.

Fig 2.4 rapid moisture test in basement

2.4 SHUTTERING CHECK IN TOWER -J

Formwork is the term used for the process of creating a temporary mould into which concrete
is poured and formed. Traditional formwork is fabricated using timber, but it can also be
constructed from steel, glass fiber reinforced plastics and other materials.

Fig 2.5 shuttering check in TOWER -J

2.5 QUALITY CHECK WITH LATEST INSTRUMENTS
Laser measurement technology has been a beneficiary of the rising demand for quality
assurance, owing to its non-contact, maintenance-free and rapid measurement capabilities. To
optimise manufacturing processes and improve product quality, in-line quality control during
the various manufacturing stages has become indispensable, for example measuring
geometric parameters such as distance, thickness, diameter and surface contours.

Fig 2.6 quality check with latest instruments

2.6 CONCRETING WORK IN PHASE 2

Concrete production is the process of mixing together the various ingredients water,
aggregate, cement, and any additives to produce concrete. The vibrations cause the mixture to
liquefy, reducing the internal friction of the mix components of cement, aggregate, and water.
This allows the mix to move around more easily in whatever form you are placing the
concrete. The vibrations help to bring those air bubbles to the surface where they escape.
Fig 2.7 concreting work in phase 2

2.7 BULL MARKING AND WATER PROOFING

Waterproofing is the process of making an object or structure waterproof or water-resistant so
that it remains relatively unaffected by water or resisting the ingress of water under specified
conditions. Permeation of water vapour through a material or structure is reported as a
moisture vapour transmission rate.

Fig 2.8 bull marking and water proofing

2.8 LEVELLING WORK WITH AUTO LEVEL
An Auto Level is a professional Levelling Tool used by Contractors, Builders, Land
Surveying Professional, or the Engineer who demands accurate levelling every time. We have
a large selection of Automatic Levels for your choice of options like magnification, accuracy,
and price.

CHAPTER 3
SPECIFIC OUTCOMES OF INTERNSHIP
3.1 SITE VISIT
We working with the quality manager at the office and observed various construction
activities on the site. The Quality Manager is always explaining works performed in the
office and we have worked with the Supervisor and Site Engineer also while performing
activities on the site. As a new person to join the site; my first task was getting accustomed
with the professional workers and other stake holders on the site. After this we have focused
on my activities by ensuring proper interaction with my Quality Manager, supervisor and
other workers. For better explanation of the activities covered; we had divided this section in
to two parts .i.e. activities in the office and on the site.

window schedules, and room finishes. The floor plan is an important drawing because
it provides the most important information and acts as a reference for the location of
additional sections and details. The floor plan shows floor finishes, walls, doors,
stairways, fire places, built‐ in cabinets and mechanical equipment. Elevations are
views of the exterior features of the building.
 Mivan shuttering drawings includes the panels, decks and various other components
having bar code and panel number to identify. To study on drawing is required to
place properly shuttering according to the structural and architectural design.
 The Electrical drawings I include the electrical wiring, lighting plan etc.
 The Mechanical drawings (M) include heating, ventilating, and air conditioning
(HVAC) plans, plumbing plans and schedule for pipe and fittings and plumbing
fixtures.

3.5 BENEFITS OF INTERNSHIP TRAINING

In general in a month, we performed various tasks nicely and got knowledge of the practical
world and relate it with the theory we have learnt in class for last three years. Also we
transformed our self to another level of skill, ethics, knowledge and leadership using this
internship training and we performed it well.
Some of advantages of Internship are as follows:

 Gain valuable work experience.

 Explore a career path.
 Give our self an edge in the job market.
 Develop and refine skills.
 Network with professionals in the field.
 Gain confidence.
 Transition into a job.
3.6 CHALLENGES FACED DURING INTERNSHIP
Construction projects are complex and time-consuming undertakings that require the
interaction and cooperation of many different persons to accomplish. The construction
industry is typically divided into specialty areas, with each area requiring different skills,
resources, and knowledge to participate effectively in it. In order to integrate and work
closely in each section it is a challenging task to one person especially when he/she is fresh or
beginner. In fact some challenges may be solved by me but some are above my limit and
even the workers at the site also. In general I have faced the following challenges in the
internship period.

 Weather condition of the site.

 Shortage of knowledge in some portion of the work at the site.
 Underestimation by workers such as engineers, Forman.
 Unsatisfactory answers for questions from engineers.
 Safety facility
 Transportation from room to working site.
 Adaptation for different food taste.
 Communication with labours.
Conclusion

In this internship, I have learned a lot about the present scenario in the field of Civil
Engineering System. I have gained sufficient knowledge about the technology used
by the company.
In our college curriculum we learn most of the things theoretically, which do not
provide sufficient information about the concerned subject in depth and students
remain unaware of the problems and errors when they go into the field. This
practical training has provided us the knowledge about various technologies in the
civil engineering field.

I am highly grateful and obliged to CAPACIT’E INFRA PROJECT

LIMITED for their support and guidance for the successful completion of my
internship.
