TASK PERFORMED
An internship is an opportunity by an employer to potential employees, called intern to work
at a firm for a fixed, limited period of time. The internship program provides a bridge
between academic and real practical professional world. The basic objectives of “Internship”,
planned as part of the curriculum for 7th semester B.E (civil engineering), by VTU, Belgaum,
is to understand the working flowchart of a design industry and to bridge the gap between the
academic knowledge and the industrial procedure of the construction aspects. Internship
training was carried out from 10/03/2021 to 09/04/2021 in Capacit’e constructions at Godrej
Avenues. Internship gives an opportunity for student to understand the use of new
technological instruments in construction and field works. It broadens the network personal
and professionally.

PHASE 2
Read the cover sheet which contains the project name, the architect’s name, address
and contact information, project location and date.
Go through the index of plan sheets and their contents, abbreviation key, a scale bar
with plan scale indicated.
Understand the architectural sheets that will be numbered in the approximate order of
construction.
Civil engineering drawings I include plot or site plans, utilities, grading, and
landscape details.
Structural drawings (S) include foundation, structural steel, building support system,
and roof framing system along with sections and details.
Architectural drawings (A) include floor plans, elevations, building sections, door and
window schedules, and room finishes. The floor plan is an important drawing because
it provides the most important information and acts as a reference for the location of
additional sections and details. The floor plan shows floor finishes, walls, doors,
stairways, fire places, built‐ in cabinets and mechanical equipment. Elevations are
views of the exterior features of the building.
Mivan shuttering drawings includes the panels, decks and various other components
having bar code and panel number to identify. To study on drawing is required to
place properly shuttering according to the structural and architectural design.
The Electrical drawings I include the electrical wiring, lighting plan etc.
The Mechanical drawings (M) include heating, ventilating, and air conditioning
(HVAC) plans, plumbing plans and schedule for pipe and fittings and plumbing
fixtures.
The plumbing plan (P) shows the layout for the hot and cold water systems, the
sewage disposal system, and the location of plumbing fixtures.
1) Beam Side Panel: - It forms the side of the beams. It is a rectangular structure and is cut
according to the size of the beam
1) Deck Panel: - It forms the horizontal surface for casting of slabs. It is built for proper
safety of workers.
In this internship, I have learned a lot about the present scenario in the field of Civil
Engineering System. I have gained sufficient knowledge about the technology used
by the company.
In our college curriculum we learn most of the things theoretically, which do not
provide sufficient information about the concerned subject in depth and students
remain unaware of the problems and errors when they go into the field. This
practical training has provided us the knowledge about various technologies in the
civil engineering field.
