BASIS OF CALCULATION Pressure Unit bar
To calculate the vapour relief rate from a partially filled liquid vessel or vessels connected within the same fire zone. The individual wetted areas
and the latent heat of vapourisation of the liquids are used to calculate the relieving mass flowrate assuming liquid levels provide sufficient liquid
disengagement, otherwise consideration is given to liquid expansion relief rate using FireLiqFull calculation.

REFERENCES / NOTES
1. Value for Ideal Gas Specific Heat Ratio at Relieving Temperature
2. For Horizontal vessels, the Cylinder Wetted Area is inclusive of both the heads.
3. If the Relief Valve is present below the liquid level of the vessel, then the Relief valve must be sized to pass liquid at the volumetric equivalent of the
generated vapour flow.Otherwise relief valve to be sized according to liquid expansion calculation. (Ammend / Delete this note as applicable.)
