Each question on the exam is worth up to 3 points and there are 5 questions on the exam. The
entire exam is worth up to a maximum of 15 points.
Exceeding the Standard: 14-15 points. Student answered questions 1-4 correctly and provided
a detailed, personal response with cause and effect for question 5.
Meeting the Standard: 12-13 points. Student answered questions 1-4 correctly and provided a
response that was specific to their own experience and included cause and effect for most of the
answer for question 5.
Approaching the Standard: 8-11 points. Student answered most of questions 1-4 correctly and
provided a cause and effect in their response for question 5 with little to no detail.
Not Meeting the Standard: Less than 8 points. Student answered some of questions 1-4 and did
not provide a response for question 5.
Comments:
Great work. I appreciate that you added details into your answers for the critical elements
questions (questions 2 and 3). This shows me that you are really understanding what to do
when serving. Great detail, reasoning, and sequence in your response to question 5. Yes,
keeping your eye on the birdie is very helpful when trying to perform a successful serve. And
yes! The pull back of the racket and the follow through contribute to the overall power of the
serve! Excellent job Laela!
As an added challenge for our next badminton lesson, I think you should try implementing some
strategy into your serve! By this I mean try serving it short, just past the service line or try
serving it long just before the boundary line. This will make it challenging for your opponent to
return the serve. I think you can do this!
