PROPOSALS OF PROJECT
1. INTRODUCTION
In every continent in every country for every single human being in the whole wide world the
most essential thing is health. When we say health we are talking about both physical and
psychological wellness. If there exist some problem on our health ours and peoples around us life
will turn in to a crises. Health is something that can’t be measured by gold or money, so we got
to protect it by any means before any disease or distortion happens. This means taking immediate
action when something concerning happen and nowadays technology has been in a great place
that it can play a vital role for the society. Within in medical area technology has been evolving
in varies branch of medical streams. In Ethiopia we can say that there is not much of
technological evolvement especially within health area. There is lack of information and
guidance that peoples are facing tremendous difficulties of getting reliable information and
assistance such as getting a specific health center that is known on specialized area, the location
of the health centers, emergency contacts, getting first aid advice or urgent solutions for urgent
problems etc. To solve this and other problems we think to design a website that can locate
Ethiopian health centers and give some vital information that are concerned on health.
Samara University (su) is one of the higher education institutions in Ethiopia which has become
operational in 2000 E.C. Samara University, the first and only university in afar national regional
state is located in samara town, the capital of the region.
Lack of knowledge of hospitals information: - The most systems at hand has a impuissance of
creating a cognizance of information about hospitals but our system will hold the information
about hospitals in Ethiopia like their location, telephone, some description about the hospital
current status, email and etc.… There for, since Ethiopian peoples are in habit of using internet
and there is easiest access for it too, with our system people of Ethiopia will have the best and
reliable information.
Difficulties on finding suitable health center and their location: - Some health centers are
known by their performance on a certain area but there isn’t any mechanism that put these health
centers by their performance that they are known and there is no mechanism that peoples know
the exact location of a certain health center, but our system will try to represent those health
centers with their performance that they are known with and there exact locations (by using
map).
Lack of knowledge of the emergency contact of hospitals for accident: -There is always the
possibility of that peoples forgetting or do not have it in the first in the place of the emergency
contacts of the health centers. Trying to find the emergency contact takes time and this will be
sometimes the reason for put people’s life in danger, but in our system we will include all
emergency contacts of all the possible emergency contacts of the health centers.
Lack of knowledge of first aid: - In a day to day activity of peoples there may be an accident
that happen so knowing how to handle those incidents is the most important thing because the
lack of first aid knowledge may led to more complicated problems and even it may led to death
but our system provide first aid information in more organized form.
Proposed solution of this project is to develop and implement a web based health
information and guidance that integrate with database on the server. It has some

functionality needed to perform, which will reduce the problems associated with
Designing database.

The scope of this project is to develop and implement a web based health information and
guidance that integrate with database on the server. It has some functionality needed to perform,
which will reduce the problems associated with Health Centers and disease in Ethiopia.
1.5.1 Scope
Viewing some disease information from the data base.
Providing information about hospitals in Ethiopia.
Giving locations of hospitals and clinics.
Giving first aid information with procedure.
Giving some important health related information.
Adding/delete/update disease, hospitals and first aid information.(admin job)
The Web based application which we intend to develop creates awareness to its users by
providing different kinds of tips about health problems regardless of network connectivity. This
web based health information guidance and location service application allows anyone get
health related tips within few seconds; this indeed has the power to improve people’s
awareness on the area. This application installed on the appropriate device, can get all the
information they need regarding their desired health related issues using their computer. Our
project helps for ministry of health to minimize time and cost for employers, who works in rural
area to create awareness for the people. The project also helpful to our group members, as
experience for developing other web based application and we get awareness from the
application.

1.7 Methodology for the project
The object−oriented techniques play an important role in mainstream software design. Good
object−oriented design principles aim to reduce code complexity by breaking code into many
component parts. So we plan to use the object oriented design methodology which is a method of
programming based on a hierarchy of classes, Inheritance, Polymorphism, Data Hiding,
Encapsulation suits the design very well and well-defined and cooperating objects, for the
7|Page
development of the system among the different (w.ambler, The object primer: the application
developer’s guide to object-orientation, 1995).
The idea behind object-orientation (often called OO) is to make programming more real. Instead
of dealing with abstractions and concepts that only exist in the software world, OO programmers
would model their products using objects. These objects belonged to “classes of objects” that
contained the data structures and processing operations. The object-oriented approach proved to
be a feasible alternative and is now a major force in the computing mainstream. (w.ambler,
object primer, 1995).

1.8Feasibility analysis
Operational feasibility
The system will bring phenomenon change on remedying the problems that we have
discussed so far. Most people in Ethiopia do not have information’s about hospitals, their
location and first aids but our system will provide those important information. If the system is
uploaded on server it can be accessed as long as there is an internet access which means anybody
who’s in need of any health concerning information’s can gain an updated reliable information’s
and acceptable guidance from the system. Therefore the system is operationally feasible.
Technical feasibility
Our team is a composition of dedicated and skilled full students who are well aware how to
analysis, design and develop the proposed system. Every team members has their own
responsibilities and task to perform and since the team is cooperative and skilled we can say this
project is technically feasible.
Economic feasibility

The cost of the project has been canvassed. We analyzed the total cost expected for the
development and maintenance of the system would be 21095.00 Birr.
Tangible Benefits: The tangible cost of the proposed system contains the following.

The political feasibility is a feasibility that makes sure the system does not break law. Our
system do not violent with any law, hence the system is politically feasible.
Schedule feasibility
Schedule feasibility is a feasibility that makes sure that the proposed system completed in a time
given and we are dead sure that we will complete the developing the system in a given time
frame since all member of the team are quit dedicate and potential.
