DIVISION 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Unless specifically otherwise approved in advance by Bricolage Philippines – Design,
Construction and Maintenance Department, the Conditions of the Contract and these
requirements apply throughout the Work of the Contract whether performed by the
Contractor or by one or more of the Contractor’s subcontractors.

B. Provide within the proposed Contract Sum these allowable amounts for purchase and
delivery of the indicated items to the job site, and provide within the proposed Contract
Sum all other costs associated with installation:

Refer to bid form or bill of materials provided by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (if


applicable).

C. Quality Assurance

1. Provide all testing and inspecting required by (Sta. Lucia Mall) and by the
governmental agencies having jurisdiction.

2. Use adequate number of skilled workers completely trained and thoroughly familiar
with the specified requirements and methods needed for proper completion.

D. Storage and Protection

1. Use all means necessary to protect work and materials of the Contract before,
during, and after installation.

2. In the event of damage, contractor shall promptly make all required repairs at no
additional cost to the Owner.

E. Project Record Documents

1. On a separate set of Drawings and Specifications, not used for construction, clearly
record all changes approved by the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.

2. Upon completion of the Work, and as a condition to its acceptance, deliver the
Project Record Documents to BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.

F. Restrictions

These plans and incorporated designs embodied thereon are the property of Bricolage
Philippines. The use of these plans is restricted to the original site for which they were
prepared. Publication and reproduction is restricted to such use. Publication and
reproduction by any method, in whole or in part, is prohibited. Title to the plans and
designs remain with Bricolage Philippines

G. Titles

The Titles listed below shall refer to the entities noted throughout all of the Contract and
Construction Documents:

1. Owner: Bricolage Philippines.

2. Architect: Bricolage Philippines. – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

H. General Notes:

1. Drawing
Any discrepancy found between the drawings and specifications and site conditions
or any errors or omissions in the drawing or specification shall be immediately
reported to the architect who shall promptly correct such discrepancy.

2. Correlation & Interpretation Contract Documents


The Contract Documents are complementary and what is called for by one shall be
as binding as called for by all. In cases of discrepancy, defective description, error,
omission, or ambiguity between or in any of the Contract Documents, the following
shall be the rule of interpretation.

A. Drawings shall govern over the general conditions and the drawings, the
technical specifications shall govern over the special conditions, the general
conditions and the drawings.

B. Detail drawings shall govern over general drawings. Figures written on


drawings shall govern over drawings themselves.

3. Silence of Specifications
The apparent silence of the specifications, plans special provisions and
supplementary specification, as to any detail or the apparent omission therein of a
detail or the apparent omission therein of a detailed description or definition
concerning the quality of materials or workmanship of first class quality are to be
used/employed.

4. Construction Methods
The Contractor shall use such methods and equipment for the performance of all
operations connected with the work embraced under this as to produce a
satisfactory quality of work within the contract time.

5. Materials
All manufactured articles, materials, equipment, appliances, fixtures, and fittings

shall be applied, installed, connected, erected, used cleaned, and conditioned, all in
accordance with the manufacturer's printed directions unless specified to the
contrary.

6. Permits
All necessary permits shall be secured and paid by the contractor.

7. As-built drawings
The contractor shall submit to the owner a CAD File and blueprint of (8) eight sets of
and reproducible As-built drawings signed and sealed by a professional engineer and
architect in charge of the construction.

I. Project Coordination & Schedule

1. Contractor shall coordinate with BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT for timely delivery,


storage and installation of their products.

2. Contractor shall advise BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (in writing), at the time of bid
submittal, of any specified materials or equipment which are either unavailable or
will cause a delay in the construction completion schedule.

3. Immediately upon being awarded the contract, the Contractor shall prepare and
submit to BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT a Working Construction Schedule. The Working
Construction Schedule shall be continuously updated and posted on the job site at all
times as well as forwarded to DCM Department. The contractor shall identify critical
due dates for Owner supplied materials installation.

J. Dimensioning

1. DO NOT scale the drawings. Refer to dimensions shown.

2. Dimensions of the floor plans are shown to wall centerline, wall face to face, unless
noted otherwise.
3. Verify all existing and proposed construction conditions and dimensions at site prior
to beginning construction.

4. Inform BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT immediately of any discrepancies, missing


immersions, and any other conditions which require clarification or resolution.

5. Contractor shall be responsible for correction of work at his own expense for work
installed in conflict with the Contract Documents.

K. Fire Code Notes

1. All interior wall and ceiling finishes shall comply with fire rating requirements in
applicable Building and Fire Codes.

2. Fire resistant construction requirements by governing agencies shall be adhered to.


Occupancy separations and openings in separation shall conform to all applicable
Building Fire Codes.

3. All insulation shall be non-combustible.

L. Security Notes

1. All exterior openings are security openings and the following notes shall apply:

a. Swing Doors:

1) Door stops of in-swinging door shall be of one piece construction with the
jamb or joined by rabbet to the jamb.

2) All pin-type hinges which are accessible from outside the secured area when
the door is closed shall have non-removable hinge pins. In addition, they shall
have minimum projection unless the hinges are shaped to prevent removal of
the door if the hinge pins are removed.

3) Deadbolts shall contain hardened inserts.

4) Straight deadbolts shall have a minimum throw of 1” and an embedment of


not less than 5/8”.

5) Ferrous metal doors shall have surfaces not less than 16 gauge in thickness.

- End of GENERAL REQUIREMENTS –
DIVISION 2 – SITE WORK
A. General

1. Contractor shall be responsible for the removal of excess and unnecessary materials
from site.
2. Contractor shall be responsible for the protection of property, work and structures,
workmen and other people from damage and injury.
3. Organize, carry out and complete the work diligently and in a good and workmanlike
manner.

B. Products

1. Provide materials, not specifically described but required for proper completion of
work of this Section, as selected by Contractor subject to approval of DCM
Department.

C. Execution

1. Protect existing utilities indicated or made known.

2. Protection of persons and property:


a. Board-up Enclosure to the leased space with tarpaulin banner (store logo) to be
placed on the enclosure.
b. Operate warning lights during hours from dusk to dawn each day and as
otherwise required.
c. Protect structures, utilities, mall corridors and other facilities from damage
caused by ongoing construction operations under this Section.

3. Use means necessary to prevent dust becoming a nuisance to neighboring tenants,


and to other work being performed on or near the leased area.

4. Maintain access to site at all times.

5. Disposal:
a. Remove excess and unnecessary materials from clearing operations.
b. Dispose of away from site in a legal manner.
c. Do not store or permit debris to accumulate on job site.

6. Utilities:
a. Coordinate with mall engineering as required prior to commencing any work.
b. Where utility cutting, capping, or plugging is required, perform such work in
accordance with requirements of mall engineering and/or governmental agency
having jurisdiction.

DIVISION 3 – CONCRETE
A. General
1. Refer to Architectural Drawings for all construction information and specifications.
2. Contractor is responsible to review all Drawings, and inform BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT immediately of any missing dimensions, discrepancy and omissions.
3. Provide formwork, reinforcement, accessories, and cast-in-place concrete as
necessary to complete Work as indicated on Drawings, in compliance with all the
pertinent governmental codes, except as may be modified herein.
4. Use sufficient and competent workmen, and equipment adequate in size, capacity,
and numbers to accomplish work of this Section in timely manner.
5. Contractor shall include in the bid the additional concrete work required to embed
Plumbing pipes and Electrical conduits and devices. Refer to Architectural, Electrical,
and Mechanical Drawings.

B. Products
1. Concrete Forms
a. Form Lumber and 12mm thk Marine Plywood

C. Execution
a. Coordinate as required with other trades to assure proper and adequate provision in
work of those trades for interface with work of this Section.
b. Install work of this Section in strict accordance with recommendations of
manufacturer as approved by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.
a. Fill to a uniform thickness as shown on Drawings, finishing to a smooth plane.
b. Provide adequate protection until fill has attained sufficient strength to withstand
damage from imposed loads.
c. Approximately one week after completion of floor fill installation, make a thorough
visual inspection of all areas and locate all shrinkage cracks and other cracks in floor
fill surface.
a. Patch cracks with a compound approved by manufacturer.

b. Smooth patches to provide a finish surface acceptable for applied finish floor.
d. Do not impose point loading on fill at any location, but distribute all loads on floor fill
to prevent damage to finished surfaces.

DIVISION 5 – METALS
A. General
1. All products and materials to be installed, protected, and maintained in strict
accordance with manufactures recommendations and instructions.
2. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
3. Submit Shop Drawings showing fabrication, installation, anchorage, and interface of
work of this Section with work of adjacent trades.

B. Products
1. For items exposed to view, use materials which are free from surface blemishes,
pitting, rolled trade names, and roughness.
2. Comply with following standards, as pertinent.
a. Steel plates, shapes, and bars: ASTM A36
b. Steel tubing (hot-formed, welded, or seamless): ASTM A501
c. Steel bars and bar-size shapes: ASTM A306, grade 65, or ASTM A36
d. Stainless steel sheets: AISI type 302 or 304, 24 gauge, with number 4 finish
e. Steel pipe: ASTM A53, grade A, schedule 40, black finish unless otherwise noted
f. Concrete inserts:
(1) Provide required bolts, shims, and washers, hot-dip galvanized in accordance
with ASTM A153.
3. Fasteners
a. Provide fasteners of type, grade, and class required for particular use.
b. Bolts and nuts: Provide hexagon- head regular type complying with ASTM A307,
grade A.
c. Machine Screws
d. Washers:
(1) Plain and Lock washers
e. Anchorage devices
4. Shop paint
5. Fabrication
a. Fabricate with accurate angles and surfaces true to required lines and levels,
grinding exposed welds smooth and flush, forming exposed connections with
hairline joints, and using concealed fasteners wherever possible.
b. Prior to shop painting or priming, properly clean metal surfaces as required for
applied finish and for proposed use of item.

C. Execution
1. Installation
a. Set work accurately into position, plumb, level, true and free from rack.

b. Anchor firmly into position.

DIVISION 6 – WOOD AND PLASTIC

A. General
1. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
2. Contractor shall provide all necessary blocking, stiffeners, bracing, framing, hangers,
or other support for all fixtures, equipment, cabinetry, and all other items required.
3. Contractor shall provide all non-structural framing and furring required to construct
dropped ceilings as described on or required by the Drawings.
4. Contractor shall provide all framing works for the installation of wall hung
departmental signage.
5. Non-structural framing may not be shown on Drawings. Contractor is responsible
for complete review of all Drawings as necessary to form a clear understanding of
all wood framing to be included in the bid.
6. All framing nailing shall be in conformance with applicable Building Codes.
7. Unless noted otherwise, align tops of door frames and jambs aligned and level.
8. Refer to Floor Plans and Elevations for swings of doors.
9. Refer to Architectural Drawings for Schedule of Door.
10. Coordinate installation of doors to allow for uninterrupted installation of jamb
weather-stripping. Verify that edges of butt hinges are held back 3/8” from opposite
face of door.

B. Products
1. Rough Carpentry
a. See Architectural Drawings regarding all criteria and requirements for the
selection, fabrication, supply and erection of wood framing.
2. Finish Carpentry
a. Provide materials in accordance with Drawings, details and Finish Schedule

C. Execution
1. Take necessary measurements in field to assure proper dimensions of work of this
Section.
2. Produce joints which are true, tight, and well nailed, with all members assembled in
accordance with Drawings.
3. Jointing and fastening:
a. Make joints to conceal shrinkage; miter exterior joints; cope interior joints;
miter or scarf end-to-end joints.
b. Install trim in pieces as long as possible, jointing only where solid support is
obtained.

c. Install items straight true, level, plumb, and firmly anchored in place.
d. Where blocking and backing is required, coordinate as necessary with other
trades to ensure placement of required backing and blocking in a timely manner.
e. On exposed work, set nails for putty.
f. Screw, do not drive, wood screws; except that screws may be started by driving
and then screwed home.
4. Install items in strict accordance with Drawings, and recommend methods of
manufacturer as approved by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, anchoring firmly into
position at prescribe location, straight, plumb, and level.
5. Sandpaper finished wood surfaces thoroughly as required to produce uniformly
smooth surface, always sanding in direction of grain.
6. No coarse grained sandpaper mark, hammer mark, or other imperfection will be
accepted.
7. Cleaning up:
a. Keep premises in a neat, safe, and orderly condition at all times during
execution of this portion of Work, free from accumulation of sawdust, cut-ends,
and debris.
b. Sweeping:
1) At end of each working day, and more often if necessary, thoroughly sweep
surfaces where refuse from this portion of Work has settled.
2) Remove refuse to area of job site set aside for its storage.
3) Upon completion of this portion of Work, thoroughly broom clean all
surfaces.

DIVISION 7 – THERMAL AND MOISTURE PROTECTION

A. General

1. All products and materials to be installed, protected, and maintained in strict


accordance with manufactures recommendations and instructions.
2. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
3. Notify BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT and mall engineering of any area(s) that require
special attention, after construction is complete.
4. Contractor must obtain Mall Engineering approval and/or governmental agencies
having jurisdiction prior to installation if required.
5. Waterproofing subject to 24 hours flood testing and inspection prior to topping.
6. Extend at least 12 inches or 300mm high on all walls

B. Acceptable Products

1. MEMBRANE WATERPROOFING

a. Cementitious/ Elastomeric Waterproofing
(1) 3 coats on all kitchen, toilet sink and lavatory areas.

C. Execution

1. Install work of this section in strict accordance with manufacturer’s


recommendations; and as required by government agencies having jurisdiction

DIVISION 8 – DOORS AND WINDOWS

A. General

1. All products and materials to be installed, protected, and maintained in strict


accordance with manufactures recommendations and instructions.
2. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
3. Notify BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT and mall engineering of any area(s) that require
special attention, after construction is complete.

C. Execution

a. Fitting and Machining


a. Unless doors are completely fitted and machines at mill, fit them for width by
planning and fit them for height by sawing:
(1) Bottom: ¼” clearance maximum
(2) Top: 1/8” clearance maximum
(3) Lock edge and hinge edge: Bevel 1/8” in 2” maximum
b. Receive and retain custody of finish hardware furnished for work of this
Section, except as otherwise directed by DCM Department, install all such
finish hardware in strict accordance with recommendations of its
manufacturer.
c. Replace or re-hang doors which are hinge-bound and do not swing or operate
freely.

DIVISION 9 – FINISHES

LATH & PLASTER

A. General
1. To complying with pertinent codes and regulations of governmental agencies having
jurisdiction.

B. Products
1. Exterior Plaster
a. Provide smooth hand toweled finish over brown coat over scratch coat over self-
furring lath with Grade “D” breather paper as backing.
b. Integral color to be selected by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, and mock-up sample
of same to be approved prior to application.
a. Comply with ASTM C150, type I.
b. DO NOT use plastic cement of any type.
2. Sand
a. Comply with ASTM C144, clean and well graded from coarse to fine.
3. Water
a. Clean and free from deleterious amounts of acid, alkali, and organic materials.
4. Gypsum Putty

C. Execution
1. Carefully coordinate with other trade to assure proper provision in such work for
installation of work of this Section.
2. Provide embedded wire supports as necessary
3. Install members and components in strict accordance with arrangements.
4. Alignment:
a. Align vertically within a tolerance of one in 1000.
b. Align horizontally within a tolerance of one in 500.
c. On framing members to receive a finish plaster surface, align finish sub-surface
to vary not more than 1/8” from plane surfaces of adjacent framing and furring
members.
5. Scratch Coat:
a. Apply with sufficient material and force to form good keys, embedding and filling
all spaces of lath.
b. Score to receive brown coat.
6. Brown Coat:
a. Do not apply brown coat sooner than 48 hours after installation of scratch coat.

b. Apply brown coat to scratch coat.
c. Bring out to grounds, straighten to a true surface, and leave sufficiently rough to
assure adequate bond of finish coat.
7. Finish Coat:
a. Do not apply finish coat sooner than 7 days after installation of brown coat.
b. Apply medium textured dash finish coat in pattern.
8. Finish plaster true and even within a tolerance of one in 500, leaving finished surface
free from tool marks and other blemishes.
9. Wipe metal accessories clean after application of each coat.

GYPSUM WALLBOARD

A. General
1. All products and materials to be installed, protected, and maintained in strict
accordance with manufactures recommendations and instructions.
2. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
3. Contractor shall provided all necessary blocking, stiffeners, bracing, framing,
hangers, or other support for all fixtures, equipment, cabinetry, furnishings, and all
other items requiring the same.
4. Where required, Contractor shall provide minimum additional partition thickness or
furring for plumbing walls.

B. Products

3. Provide materials in accordance with Drawings, details, and Finish Schedule.


4. Gypsum wallboard complying with Fed Specs SS-L-30D, in 48” width and in such
length as will result in a minimum of joints.
5. Joining System:
a. Provide a joining system, including reinforcing tape and compound, designed as
a system to be used together and as recommended for this use by manufacturer
of approved gypsum wallboard.
b. Provide pilaster skim coat and sand smooth.
6. Fastening devices:
a. For fastening gypsum wallboard in place on metal studs and metal channels, use
flat head screw, shouldered, specially designed for use with power-driven tool,
not less than 1” long, with self-tapping threads and self-drilling points.
b. For fastening gypsum wallboard in place on wood, use 1-1/4” type W bulge
head screws.
C. Execution
1. General
a. Install gypsum wallboard in accordance with Drawings and with separate boards

in moderate contact but not forced in place.
b. At internal and external corners, conceal cut edges of boards by overlapping
covered edges of abutting boards.
2. Ceilings
a. Install gypsum wallboard to ceilings with long dimension of wallboard at right
angles to supporting members.
b. Wallboard may be installed with long dimension parallel to supporting members
that are spaced 16” on center when attachment members are provided at end
joints.
3. Walls
a. Install gypsum wallboard to studs at right angles to furring or framing members.
b. Make end joints, where required, over framing or furring members.
4. Attaching
a. Drive specified screws with clutch controlled power screwdrivers, spacing
screws 12” on center at ceilings and 16” on center at walls.
b. Where framing members are spaced 24” apart on walls, space screws 12” on
center.
c. Attach double layers in accordance with pertinent codes and manufacturer’s
recommendation as approved by DCM Department.
5. Joint treatment
a. Inspect areas to be joint treated, verifying that gypsum wallboard fits snugly
against supporting framework.
b. Apply joint treatment and finishing compound by machine or hand tool.
c. Provide minimum drying time of 24 hours between coats, with additional drying
time in poorly ventilated areas.
6. Embedding compounds
a. Apply to gypsum wallboard joints and fastener heads in a thin uniform layer.
b. Spread compound not less than 3” wide at joints, center reinforcing tape in
joint, and embed the tape in compound. Then spread a thin layer of compound
over tape.
c. After this treatment has dried, apply a second coat of embedding compound to
joints and fastener heads, spreading in a thin uniform coat to not less than 6”
wide at joints, and feather edged.
d. Sand between coats as required for seamless finish.
e. When thoroughly dry, sand to eliminate ridges and high points.
TILING WORKS

A. General
1. All products and materials to be installed, protected, and maintained in strict
accordance with manufactures recommendations and instructions.
2. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
3. Notify owner of any area(s) that require special attention after construction is

complete.
4. Provide tiling work at selling area:
a. White (General), Red and Yellow tile termination.
b. Detailing of tile starting point, layout, and edges as per UNO Factory Outlet
design standard.
5. Provide tiling work at toilet:
a. Floor and Wall tile layout, tile starting point.
b. Wall tiles at 1.5m high from finish floor level, unless noted otherwise.

B. Products
1. Ceramic Floor Tiles
a. Toilet
1) 300mm x 3000mm non-skid white ceramic floor tiles
2) 300mm x 3000mm non-skid white ceramic wall tiles
2. Portland Cement Mortar
a. Materials
1) Portland cement complying with ASTM C150, type I or II.
2) Sand complying with ASTM C144.
3) Hydrated lime complying with ASTM C206
4) Clean potable water
b. Where used on floors, provide a jobmix of one part Portland cement to six parts
sand.
c. Where used on walls, provide a jobmix of one part Portland cement to five parts
sand, with ½ part lime, except where other proportions are approved in advance
by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.
3. Dry Set Mortar
a. Provide a commercially prepared mixture of Portland cement, sand and additives
imparting water-retentivity, for use as a bond coat for setting tile.
b. Comply with ANSI A118.1; except where specifically indicated on Drawings or
directed in advance by Architect, provide conductive dryset mortar complying
with ANSI A118.2.
4. Latex-Portland Cement Mortar:
a. Provide a commercially prepared mixture of Portland cement and special latex
additive for use as a bond coat for setting tile.
b. Comply with ANSI A118.4
5. Organic Adhesive
a. Provide a prepared organic material, ready to use with no further addition of

b. Comply with ANSI A136.1, using type I where exposed to prolonged water
presence and using type II at all other locations.
6. Grout

C. Execution
1. Maintain minimum temperature limits and installation practices recommended by
materials manufacturers.
2. Do not install tile floors over membrane until membrane has been tested and
accepted.
3. Limits of Tiles:
a. Extend tile into recesses and under equipment and fixtures to form a complete
covering without interruptions.
b. Terminate tile neatly at obstructions, edges, and corners, without disruption of
pattern or joint alignment.
4. Joining Pattern:
a. Lay tile in grid pattern unless otherwise indicated on Drawings or directed.
b. Align joints when adjoining tiles on floor, base, trim, and walls that are the same
size.
c. Layout tile work and center tile fields both directions in each space or on each
wall area.
d. Adjust to minimize tile cutting
e. Provide uniform joint widths.
5. Cleaning:
a. Upon completion of placing and grouting, clean work of this Section in
accordance with recommendations of manufacturers of materials used.
b. Protect metal surfaces, cast iron, and vitreous items from effects of acid cleaning.
c. Flush surfaces with clean water before and after cleaning.
6. Provide tile surfaces clean and free from cracked, broken, chipped, unbounded, and
otherwise defective units.
7. Provide required protection of tile surfaces to prevent damage and wear prior to
acceptance of the Work by Owner.

PAINTING

A. General
1. Contractor is responsible for the supervision, execution, and maintenance during
construction.
2. Following selection of colors and glosses as per Mr. DIY Store Design and Guidelines,
submit Samples for BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT’s review. If so directed, submit samples
during progress of work in form of actual application of approved materials on actual
surfaces to be painted.
3. Revise and resubmit each Sample as requested until required gloss, color, and
texture are achieved. Such Samples, when approved will become standards of color
and finish for accepting or rejecting work of this Section.
4. Do not commence finish painting until approved Samples are on file at job site.
5. All fixture trim rings shall be finished or painted to match the color of the adjacent
surfaces.

6. Upon completion of work of this Section, deliver to Owner an extra stock equaling
10% of each color, type, and gloss of paint used in Work, tightly sealing each
container, and clearly labeling with contents and location where used.

B. Products
1. Painting Schedule is based, in general, on Boysen products. Equal products or other
manufacturers approved in advance by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT may be substituted
in accordance with provisions of Contract.
2. Where products are proposed other than those specified by name and number in
Painting Schedule, submit a new painting schedule complied in same format used for
Painting Schedule included in this Section.
3. Undercoats and Thinners:
a. Provide undercoat paint produced by same manufacturer as finish coat.
b. Use only thinners recommended by paint manufacturer, and use only to
recommended limits.
c. Insofar as practicable, use undercoat, finish coat, and thinner materials as parts
of a unified system to paint finish.
4. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT will prepare a color schedule with samples for guidance in
painting, subject to following:
a. Exterior Work: A maximum of five different colors will be used, with variations for
trim, doors, miscellaneous work, and metal work.
b. Interior Work: A maximum of five different pigmented colors will be used, with
variations fort trim and wall surfaces and wainscots.

a. Semi-gloss latex finish primed with acrytex primer by “Boysen”
6. Gypsum Board Drop Ceiling
a. Semi-gloss enamel by “Boysen”
7. Shelves, Doors and Jambs
a. Semi-gloss enamel by “Boysen”
8. Baggage Counter
a. Semi-gloss enamel by “Boysen”
9. Cement Board Cladding
a. Gloss plain acrytex finish primed with acrytex primer
10. All Structural Metals and Cladding Frames
a. Two coats of roofguard by “Boysen” primed with 1 coat of epoxy primer.
11. Entrance Portal
a. Semi-gloss duco paint finish

C. Execution
1. For application of approved paint, use only equipment as is recommended as
approved by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.
2. Prior to use of application equipment, verify that proposed equipment is actually
compatible with material to be applied, and that integrity of finish will not be

jeopardized by use of proposed equipment.
3. Mix and prepare paint materials in strict accordance as approved by BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT.
4. Perform preparation and cleaning procedures in accordance with paint as approved
by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.
5. Remove removable items which are in place and are not scheduled to receive paint
finish; or provide surface applied protection prior to surface preparation and
painting operations.
6. Following completion of painting in each space or area, re-install removed items by
using workmen who are skilled in necessary trades.
7. Slightly vary color of succeeding coats.
a. Do not apply additional coats until completed coat has been inspected and
approved.
b. Only inspected and approved coats will be considered in determining number of
coats applied.
c. Sand and dust between coats to remove defects visible to unaided eye from a
distant of five feet.
d. On removable panels and hinged panels, paint back sides to match exposed
sides.
8. Brush out and work brush coats onto surface in an even film.
9. Cloudiness, spotting, laps, brush marks, runs, sags, ropiness, and other surface
imperfections will not be acceptable.
10. Except as specifically otherwise approved by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, confine
spray application to metal framework and similar surfaces where hand brush work
would be inferior.
a. Where spray application is used, apply each coat to provide hiding equivalent of
brush coats.
b. Do not double back with spray equipment to build up film thickness of two coats
in one pass.

11. For completed work, match approved Samples as to texture, color, and coverage.
Remove, refinish, or repaint work not in compliance with specified requirements.
a. Hardware:
1) Paint prime coated hardware to match adjacent surfaces.
2) Paint metal portions of head seals, jamb seals to match color of door frame
unless otherwise directed by BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.
b. Wet Areas:
1) In toilet rooms and contagious areas, ass an approved fungicide to paints.
2) For oil base paints, use 1% phenolmercuric or 4% tetrachlorophenol.
3) For water emulsion and glue size surfaces, use 4% sodium
tetrachlorophenate.

Boysen® Acrytex
PLAIN FINISH:
1. Prime surface with Boysen® Acrytex™ Primer #1705.
2. Fill hairline cracks and minor surface imperfections with Boysen® Acrytex™
Cast #1711 using a putty knife.
3. Spot prime puttied portions with Boysen® Acrytex™ Primer #1705.
4. Apply 2-3 coats of Boysen® Acrytex™ Topcoat of desired sheen by brush,
roller or spray.

TEXTURED FINISH:
1. Prime surface with Boysen® Acrytex™ Primer #1705.
2. Spray Boysen® Acrytex™ Cast #1711 with mortar gun. Press Acrytex™ Cast
with wooden roller 10-15 minutes after spraying. (Note: wet wooden roller
with Boysen® Acrytex™ Reducer #1750 to prevent the roller from sticking to
the cast).
3. Apply 2-3 coats of Boysen® Acrytex™ Topcoat of desired sheen by brush,
roller or spray.
