Barbed wire, Motto® Zincalu® coated, is formed from two zincalu® coated line wires, twisted
together alternately between the four point barbs. See figure 1.
The barbs are tightly wrapped round the two stranded wires.
The barbs ends are cut sharp.
The line and barb wires are Zincalu® (Zn95AL5) coated steel wires.

1.2 Definitions
Real wire diameter: The average value of the minimal and the maximal diameter,
measured in the same section of a straight piece of wire, by means of a micrometer to
0,01 mm.
Breaking load: The load, expressed in N, necessary to break the continuously twisted
wires

2.2 Zincalu® ingots
Zincalu® is an alloy of 95% Zn and 5% Al.
The ingots used for coating shall be in accordance with ASTM B750.

3.3 Breaking load of the strand
See table 3:
This minimum breaking load of the strand is in accordance with ISO 7900, table 1.
The minimum strand breaking load is the overriding quality characteristic of the line wires.

3.5 Dimensions of the barbs
The distance (See figure 2-b) between the ends of the barbs is between 19 and 25 mm.
At least 75% of the min. breaking load, in accordance with ISO 7900.

6 Storage at customer
Recommends inside storage of pallets. When pallets with zinc or Zincalu® coated products are
placed outside, condensation of water might take place under the wrapped plastic foil, resulting
in superficial white and red rust.
