Description
The SP-1CAN is a combined alarm, monitoring
and discharge panel used for controlling
Pyrogen MAG generators and any type of
initiators.

When connected to, it can monitor for faults as

well as alarm information from a number of
different types of detectors, including linear heat
sensing cable or spot detectors of potential free
type, which could be smoke (optical/ionisation),
heat, IR-flame, water or gas.

The status information will be presented on the

vehicle LCD monitor by interfaceing with the
vehicle CAN bus communication system.

At the rear of the panel there are a number of

terminals to allow the user to connect to the
CAN bus system, external sounders, warning
beacons, relay connections for automatic
engine shutdown in event of fire as well as an
external manual discharge button should this be
required. All cables, whether they are for the
detectors, warning devices, power supply or for

the MAG generators are connected at the rear

of the panel.

The SP-1CAN is an extremely compact control

panel allowing adaptability to most standard
instrument modules (VDO instruments).

The panel is both robust, water & dust resistant

up to IP 65 and is delivered ready for purpose
and set to operate in a Manual mode, (factory
default).
However by careful alteration of the DIP
switches on the back of the panel it can be
programmed to operate in an automatic mode,
which after receiving a signal from one of the
detectors or sensors indicating the existence of
a fire, will activate the MAG units remotely after
a preset 15 second delay.

All inputs will be monitored continuously

assuming that the panel remains connected to
the power supply. Should a short or open circuit
signal be detected it will result in a “Fault”
indication.
