SER (verbs that mean to be)


Yo soy = I am
Tu eres = you are (familiar)
Usted es = you are (formal)
el es = he is
ella es = she is
nosotros somos = we are (masculine or mixed group)

Spanish verbs are conjugated (matched) to different


subject pronouns by dropping the ending (ar) and adding
the ending that matches the subject pronoun.
For Example: Estudiar (to study)
Yo estudio = I study
Tu estudias = you study (familiar)
Usted estudia = you study (formal)
El estudia = he studies
Ella estudia = she studies
Nosotros estudiamos = we study (masculine or mixed)
Nosotras estudiamos = we study (feminine group)
Ustedes estudian = you study (group)
Ellos estudian = they study (masculine or mixed group)
Ellas estudian = they study (feminine group)
