COURSE SYLLABUS
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course provides basic training to students to prepare them for English to Speakers of
Other Languages (ESOL) International Qualification which is intended for candidates who are
not native speakers of English and who wish to achieve a high quality, internationally recognized
qualification that is available and recognized world-wide. ESOL International Qualifications are
designed to reference the descriptions of language proficiency in the common European
Framework Reference for Language. This course is designed to develop students' competence
in speaking and listening.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:
Knowledge
1. Develop your knowledge and understanding of the spoken and written forms of English in
meaningful contexts
2. Develop your ability to listen and read for gist and detail of a given context.
3. Develop your ability to communicate effectively in English through the written and spoken
word
4. Accurately apply your knowledge and understanding of the grammar of English in the
appropriate context

1. Listen and respond to different types of spoken language of an increasing range of
complexity
2. Express yourself in speech using a range of vocabulary and grammatical structures
