GUIDELINE FOR BEED1013 MALAYSIAN ECONOMY A211

1. Group assignment (problem solving)(30%)


Detail guidelines:
1. Choose one (1) current economic issues.
2. Provide initiative/project (which is expected to be tabulated in the next budget
announcement) on that issue.
3. Each group is required to produce ONE (1) written report.
4. The assignment account of 30% of overall marks as indicated in the syllabus and will
be evaluated based on Rubric as attached.
5. Suggested economic issue are:
i) Food security in Malaysia
ii) Malaysia-China trade relation
iii) Housing issue in Malaysia
iv) Income inequality in Malaysia
v) Malaysia household debt
vi) Rising cost of living in Malaysia
vii) Dependency on foreign worker?
viii) New Economy and digital era
ix) Inclusive and Equitable development
6. The proposed project/initiative must have

8. The report must be in English, (1.5 spacing) font type; Times New Roman, font

2. Individual Video Presentation (20%)

1. For presentation, individual submission (1 student, 1 video), with maximum of 5


minutes durations. Submission is via online learning (OL) platform.
2. The content of the presentation is extracted from assignment 1.
3. The content of the video must include
i) Background of the economic issues,
ii) Key concept/definition of the issue
iii) The important/ urgency to solve the issue.
iv) Current situation (data and statistics).
v) The proposed project/initiative in assignment 1.
