may not typically be active and therefore may be another alternative of exercise.
Dance for health has become an important factor in the prevention, treatment
and management in several health circumstances. It can benefit both physical
and mental health and subsidizes social communication Dance is an art which is
learned in and shared between many cultures. Types of dance can entail body
movements, expression and collaboration. The correlation between dance and
health has been subject of a number of research studies that show dance to be a
largely healthy exercise. However, there are a number of health risks that require
attention.

9. Is Tinikling an ethnic dance?


Tinikling is a traditional Philippine folk dance which originated during the
Spanish colonial era.[1] The dance involves two people beating, tapping, and
sliding bamboo poles on the ground and against each other in coordination with
one or more dancers who step over and in between the poles in a dance. It is
traditionally danced to rondalla music, a sort of serenade played by an ensemble
of stringed instruments which originated in Spain during the Middle Ages.

bamboo tubes. It is an annual dance parade in honor of Saint Augustine. It's a
celebration of the blossoming of mango trees that grow abundantly on the Island
of Cuyo, the former capital of Palawan.

12. What is the purpose of the Tinikling dance?


The Tinikling is the national dance of the Philippines, and is a traditional folk
dance which originates from the Spanish colonial era. The dance imitates the
movement of the tikling birds as they dodge bamboo traps set by rice farmers.
Dancers mimic the tikling bird’s grace and agility by dancing between large
bamboo poles.
The Tinikling is one of the oldest dances from the Philippines, and originated in
the islands of Leyte in the Visayas. According to legend, the Tinikling was started
by people who worked in the paddies and farms of the Philippines.

indigenous populations of Europe. However, dances that have a ritual origin or
purpose are not usually considered to be Traditional dances. These are known
as ‘Religious dances’ instead.

but it is normally choreographed. Depending on the dance type itself, Traditional
dancing can be either partnered or solo, and are mainly danced in formation.
