There are times when we felt as if everything was not going the way
we wanted them to. Times when we wanted to give up and suddenly disappear. Times when we wish
that everything will end soon and times when we wish to run away. It is actually not bad to take a rest
and disappear for a short period of time. During those challenging times, one way to cope up is to travel
to a destination that could bring back your spirit to live.
Finding yourself and release all your stress will never be impossible in Siargao. It is a teardrop-
shaped small island at the north-eastern coast of Mindanao. Specifically, a hidden paradise in the
Philippines located off the coast of Surigao del Norte. One of the best tourist destination in the country
as it is known as the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. In fact, Siargao enchants both local and
international tourists, as it offers a captivating beauty with its palm-fringed white sand beaches and
islets and its amazing beauty underneath the waves. This island also boasts some of the most influential
surf breaks in the world.
Cloud 9 has actually served as a muse for many artists and musicians. It is famous for its
barrelling right hand waves and thick hollow tubes that can make every surfer’s heart to skip a beat.
Those are the reason why it is considered as the Siargao’s most popular surfing spot. Moreover, the best
part that could be experienced in Cloud 9 is its great waves all year round. It is also a favorite venue for
showcasing the talents of both local and international surfers.
Aside from the amazing Cloud 9, one should not miss out an escapade in Naked Island. It
features one of the three islands from the shores of General Luna. Daku Island and Guyam Island are the
other two islands that are highly recommended for island hopping tour in Siargao. Naked Island is a 200-
meter long strip of sand in the middle of Pacific. This islands could also provide wonderful adventures in
caves and wildlife.
Sugba Lagoon is another gem of Siargao. It can be found in the quiet town of Del Carmen. This
could grant a spectacular destination in the middle of a mystical mangrove forest surround by
mountains. Visitors can witness a stunning 4,000 hectare turquoise swimming spot isolated from hustle
and bustle of General Luna. The perfect place for chill out in isolation. Additionally, its most iconic
landmark is the wooden diving board rigged from coconut lumber. One should not miss the chance to
jump off here.
Siargao could offer more than what you expected. Sohoton Cove National Park is also one of
them. It will definitely leave you speechless for its unbelievable beauty. This is located in Bucas Grande
Island and another hidden paradise. It has secluded gems that will fascinate and surprise anyone. The
lagoon filled with thousands of stingless jellyfish is its other remarkable natural attraction. Tourists were
allowed to swim with the gelatinous creatures of lagoon, jellyfish, because they were harmless.
Last destination in Siargao that should not be miss is the Magpupungko Rock Pools. The unique
tidal pools in this attraction is perfect for picture-taking sports, courtesy to its one of a kind pool and
rock formations. These pools are located in Pilar and they are the primary tourist draw.
Honestly, there are other destinations within Siargao that should never be miss, aside from
those that are already mentioned. Rest assured that all of the days that anyone will spent in Siargao will
never be wasted.
There are various alluring destinations within the Philippines and even in other countries.
However, I could not take my eyes of from the outstanding beauty of Siargao. It felt as if I could
experience all the things that I never imagined that I could. Siargao is actually my dream destination. The
escape from reality where I wish I could be. A place where I could remove my doubts and where I
believe could find the answers to my questions. It is not only due to its stunning view but also because
of the peaceful atmosphere that could be felt even if I only see it online. I therefore conclude, the
reason why Siargao should be chosen as a destination to spend your free time is because this will make
your life ecstatic.
