MODULE 1 – ACTIVITY 4

THE DIVINE REVELATION, THROUGH THE SACRED TEXTS (GOD’S REVELATION THROUGH SACRED TEXTS)

Answer the following:

Open your Bible and write down all the titles of each book from the Old Testament (a total of 46). Write a short summary of what each
book is all about. The Book of Genesis has been done for your reference (or as an example).

1.      Genesis—The book of Genesis shows the Creation story, the temptation of the devil, and the fall of Adam and Eve. The book
also contains the story of Noah’s Ark, the tower of Babel, the story of Abraham and Sarah and their son Isaac, the story of Joseph the
Dreamer, and many other similar stories of the first Israelites.

Write your answer for number 2—number 46.

Reflections to be answered:

1.      What is the Christian view of suicide? What does the Bible say about suicide? What about a believer who commits suicide?

2.      Why in Deut. 6:5 does it say: "Love God with all your heart, soul and might" but Jesus says, "Love God with all your heart, soul,
and mind?"

3.      We read in Genesis 2:9 that God made a tree of the knowledge of good and evil. What kind of a tree is this — and what is "the
knowledge of good and evil?"

4.      Choose any verse in the Bible and explain the moral of your selection.
