LULAC Celebrates The 93rd Anniversary Since Its Founding In
1929!
LULAC celebrates the 93rd Anniversary since its founding in 1929! Today, LULAC
is at the forefront as one of the civil rights leaders in America battling for justice on
behalf of more than 60-million Latinos in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Domingo Garcia - LULAC National President

“This date in our history is especially important because the very same type of issues
and threats our founders faced are still around, and in many ways, the attacks are as
bad or worse. At the same time, LULAC is achieving victories in the battles that we
are taking on."

Oscar Moran - 42nd LULAC National President

“On this 93rd anniversary, may we be reminded of LULAC’s duty to continue to be

the voice of freedom and the values upon which our nation was founded."

Belen Robles - 45th LULAC National President

“It has been my honor and privilege to serve the League for more than half a century
and been elected as the first woman to lead LULAC as national president."

Hector Flores - 47th LULAC National President

“This occasion is very significant to me because my own life is deeply rooted in
Texas where the difficult and dangerous conditions compelled our ancestors to take
action and gave rise to the birth of LULAC."

Rosa Rosales - 48th LULAC National President

“LULAC has been here for nine decades and will be here for generations to come as
long as there are Latinos championing equality and civil rights for our veterans,
children, seniors, and LGBTQ loved ones.”

Margaret Moran - 49th LULAC National President

“Education and public service have been my life’s passion, taught to me by my

beloved mother, and these are cornerstones of LULAC which I celebrate on this 93rd
anniversary.”

Roger Rocha - 50th LULAC National President

“LULAC has taught us that courage in our convictions and perseverance of purpose
are among the true traits when we assume great responsibilities. This is what LULAC
has done over 93-years and I am certain will continue to be known for in the decades
to come. I salute LULAC on this auspicious occasion.”

Obesity Care Week is an annual public awareness event supported by over 100
health organizations and leaders in 80 countries around the world. OCW2022
Champions and Partners stand together to acknowledge obesity as a complex,
chronic, recurring disease. Despite extensive research and studies, stigma and
misperceptions continue to negatively shape the way people with obesity are
treated medically and generally within society. OCW2022 will elevate the
discussion on five key issue areas related to obesity: recognition as a disease;
combatting weight bias and stigma; expanding access to care; treating obesity
with science-based treatments; and expanding proven prevention programs. To

Council 60 Clubhouse
The LULAC House is transitioning into a face-to-face approach, building a coalition
of students and organizational leaders to create events that will bolster fundraising.
We also recently obtained preliminary architectural sketches of the future grounds
and received two large individual donations, pushing us closer to our first $10,000
through gofundme.

If you would like to start a local fundraiser for this national LULAC landmark please
let the national office know. All proceeds from the gofundme go to the non-profit C-
