as “plus.” It means to “add” or “put together.” The symbol =
read as “equals.” It means “makes” or “the same as.” The
numbers added are called addends. The answer in addition is
called sum.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of this lesson, the pupils are expected to:

a. Count the tens and ones in a set of objects;


b. Write the given number of tens and ones; and
c. Group objects to show the number of tens and ones.
