IV. Introduction

In this session, you will be discussing the vision, mission, and objectives of the
university as well as the core values and program learning outcomes of your course/
subject.
Misamis University is an educational institution that advocates a progressive and
dynamic education that upholds the principle that God is the center of its existence
and that education its service offering to God and country.
It is the first and only ISO certified university by Det Norske Veritas, The
Netherlands for Quality Education and Service in Mindanao. The university received
ISO 9001:2000 certification in April 28, 2005 and five years later ISO 9001:2008 for
its Quality Management System pertaining to educational, research and training
services.
Misamis University stands proud of all its accomplishments having grown from only
4 courses when it started in 1929 to more than 58 courses it now offers. It has striven
hard to faithfully fulfill its mission to advocate a God-centered existence and offer an
education that is committed to the development of the person, who is God-fearing,
principled, and socially responsible, service oriented, environmentally concerned and

VII. Learning Activities : 1. Introduce your name to the class and get to know
your teacher and classmates.
2. The teacher will discuss the policies of the
classroom as well as the subject expectations and
requirements. You may ask questions if you need
to clarify something.
3. Read your handbook particularly the Vision,
Mission, and Objectives of the university as well
as the core values, policies and guidelines.
4. After reading the VMO, core values and program
learning outcomes of the university, discuss
what you have understood with your seatmates.
5. The teacher will be asking questions pertaining to
the lessons. You will be asked to share your
thoughts about your understanding of the
university’s VMO, core values, policies and
guidelines.
6. The teacher will explain concepts of the VMO,
core values, policies and guidelines that you find
difficult to understand.
7. The teacher will ask you to:
a. Write a reflection paper on how the
VMO and Core Values of the university
