1. We checked the no load battery voltage which was 6.8V (Engine not starting), hence, we
replaced with a donor battery with 12.58V. The battery charging voltage was taken which was
13.00 V at idling, at full throttling, the charging voltage of the RR unit dropped drastically to 12.2
V.
2. Physical check was done on the wiring harness, couplers connecting the TCI, Ignition coil, Stator
coil and ISG controller, no pinched or damage was found on the Couplers and the wire harness.
3. We checked the spark plug for physical damage and also measure the spark gap, no deformity
was found on the spark plug and the spark gap was 0.7mm.
4. Next we checked the resistance of both primary coil and secondary coil of the ignition coil. The
primary coil resistance was 3.8 ohms (Specified value is 2.5 – 4 ohms) which is within limit. The
secondary coil resistance was 12.9 KOhms (Specified value is 13 – 22 K ohm) which is out of
limit.
5. We also check the resistance of the Pulsar coil which was 179 Ohms, next we removed the
magneto assy to inspect the pulsar coil and stator coil for any physical damage. On checking, we
found windings on 1 of the poles burnt.
