What Should Be The Ambag of The Youth in Our Society

What Should Be The Ambag of The Youth in Our Society
1. VOICE
Our voice is a powerful tool to ask questions, criticize, express our own opinion, and
contribute to the society’s decision to improve our communities. By expressing one’s
opinion is already a contribution to our societies. By criticizing is already a contribution.
By raising questions and asking transparency in the government is already a
contribution. Asking for a transparency in the government and raising come concerns
and issues faced by our countrymen is not about “complaining” but rather, it is our duty
as a citizen. The truth is, in accordance to Section 4 of the 1987 Constitution wherein it
states: “No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the
press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for
redress of grievances.”
We should speak out loud our opinion in order to be heard by the ones who are sitting
or In order to be heard for all those who are in the public figures. However, the youth
need first to know what the existing problems in this country are and, figure out how to
improve and solve those problems face by all of us.
By starting serious and difficult conversation leads all the youth in this country to
actively raise issues and problems. Always put in mind that we have all freedom of
speech and we can always raise and express our opinions because as I have stated
above, it is already a contribution. In fact, the voice of the youth are the ones that
matter as what Jose Rizal said that “ANG KABATAAN ANG PAG-ASA NG BAYAN”. But how
can the youth becomes the hope of the country if we keep in silence and just watch all
the issues and problems faced in this country, right?
2. ACTIONS
As a youth, raising voice and being heard is not just only the solution to fix the issues
and problems, we also need to act rather than waiting for them to act. We are not
ignorance enough to know that even if we raise our opinions, issues and, concerns they
will listen and give actions immediately. Some of them will just listen and ignored what
was being shout by all the youths and our fellow countrymen. As initiative, instead of
keeping raising concerns, we should also come up our own solution. Instead of waiting
for them to respond and action to what was being raised, why not we unite and resolve
some concerns. Like for instance, during the midst of the pandemic, there were some
who raised their voices to address the problem that all Filipinos were facing. Students
raised concerns how to attend online classes when they don’t have gadgets or enough
resources to be used, some were having trouble to find a stable connection and, mostly
were having financial problem to provide their daily needs and also to buy gadgets in
order to just continue their studies. However, this issues and problems were given
actions by some of the youth organization. SK (sangguniang kabataan) organization give
action and figure out the problems and issues in order for them to extend help to those
students who have difficulties in continuing their studies. There some organization gives,
USB, led light, school supplies, gadgets and financial assistance. So you see, we can take
actions in our own by communicating, cooperating and uniting each one another.
3. RIGHT TO VOTE
To vote is a right of every individual. Raising voice and taking actions is not enough to
solve our issues and problems in our country. Youth should register and vote for the
ones who are qualified and active. We have the freedom to choose who we vote and
who we trust. The youths in order to vote wisely, should attends webinars discussing
what to consider in voting and the importance of voting, so that all of us are
knowledgeable in comes to politics and voting.
As a democratic country, “voting is not just our right but our duty as well”. This saying
informed us that we have responsibilities as citizen in this country. To ensure that we, as
citizens, run and care for our country, we must vote. People frequently believe that a
single vote will not make much of a difference, but this is far from the case, and people
must recognize this as soon as possible. As a citizen of the country, some are constantly
raising issues, concern and even complain how our political climate is bad and how it is
getting worse day by day. However, being a citizen and a youth for this country we
always have a chance to change it for the better. And in order to make this changes we
must vote, casting an informed vote, and remembering that every vote counts.
