Mona Lisa
The famous painting of Leonardo Da Vinci which is entitled Mona Lisa has gained of being mystery to
everyone for it has many articles in defining what really is the message behind the painting of the
famous painter Leonardo da Vinci. Mona Lisa is one of the most famous Portrait in Louvre, Paris which is
the masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci. It is called Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francisco del
Giocondo. 1503 to 1506 perhaps continuing until 1517 and it permanently display at the Louvre, Paris
since 1797. Mona Lisa is worth approximately $782 million. Lisa Gherardini was a 24 year old woman
and has two sons she is a Florentine woman who was born and raised in Florence.Mona lisa is the well
known painting these days that people may see smile yet it was an asymmetric smile called a "non-
Duchenne smile" that implies it's reflection of a non-genuine feeling and is thought to happen when the
subject lies. Mona Lisa's smile may shroud secretive messages that it was a self-portrait or that the
painting alluded to a man or a dead woman. This expands on past hypotheses that the canvas contains
latent symbols.
One of the most famous paintings in history, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa has baffled art-lovers for
centuries with her puzzling half-smile. But that's not the mystery surrounding the 15th century painting.
Scholar Silvano Vinceti claimed in 2010 that he had found the letter "S" in the woman's left eye. He also
said the letter "L" was painted into her right eye, and the number "72" under the arched bridge in the
backdrop of the masterpiece. According to Vinceti, the "L" likely stands for da Vinci's first name, while
the "S" is an initial for the model who sat for the Renaissance artist. The "72" may simply refer to
important numbers in Christianity and Judaism, according to Vinceti. For instance, "7" refers to the
creation of the world, and the number "2" could refer to the duality of men and women.
Mona Lisa has always been known for her eyes, which seem to be looking at you, no matter where you
stand (a common technique in art). In 2010, members of Italy's National Committee for Cultural Heritage
made another interesting observation about the muse's eyes - they found small letters and numerals
hidden in her pupils by examining them with a magnifying glass. The right eye contains the letters "LV,"
probably the artist's initials (Leonardo da Vinci). The left eye contains numbers and letters not easily
decoded.
It's unclear how da Vinci would have painted letters and numerals so small that they can only be seen
with a magnifying glass. The Committee offered no concrete theories for why da Vinci would have
included these details, though pointed out that, by putting them in the darkest part of the subject's
eyes, he essentially hid them from viewers. Dina Goldin, Adjunct Professor at Brown University, has
argued that the secret is in the dynamic position of Mona Lisa's facial muscles, where our mind's eye
unconsciously extends her smile; the result is an unusual dynamicity to the face that invokes subtle yet
strong emotions in the viewer of the painting.
