SECOND QUARTER- WEEK 1

LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEETS


I. Introduction

This learning activity sheets contains information and suggested learning activities on Masonry
NC II. It includes instructions and procedure on how to perform basic masonry works. This module
consists of six (6) learning outcomes. Each learning outcome contains learning activities supported by
instruction sheets. Before you perform the instructions, read the information sheets and answer the
SELF CHECK and activities provided to ascertain to yourself and your instructor that you have
acquired the knowledge necessary to perform the skill portion of the particular learning outcome.\

II. Learning Competency

III. Objectives
At the end of this learning activity sheets, you are expected to:
1. identify steel bars to be used in rebar fabrication and installation.
2. measure steel bar according to given task.
3. fabricate re-bar based on job requirement
4. install fabricated re-bars based on job requirement

PRE/DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT

Reinforced Concrete
Reinforcement bars are usually used in the following:
1. Concrete Hollow Block Reinforcement is the simplest type of vertical and horizontal reinforcement
placed in between cells and layers.

2. Footing Reinforcement includes footing slab reinforcement for small and medium size footing and
beam footing for large foundations.

3. Post and column reinforcement has the following components: main vertical reinforcement and lateral
ties.

4. Beam has the following components: main reinforcement and stirrups.


5. Floor slab.

Methods of Measuring Rebar

Fabricating Rebar

Procedures:
1. Read and interpret plan and detailed drawing.

2. Prepare tools and materials.


3. Measure the rebar to be cut in accordance with plan/details.

4.Using bar cutter, cut the desired length of rebar.

5.Bend rebar according to the plan and specification using a bar bender.
6. Install fabricated rebar according to plan & job specification.
