    Come up with the topic for your essay and plan out your main arguments

    BRAINSTORM
    1- We need three main ideas each one will be one body paragraph in the essay
    2- A paragraph is a one main idea

    introduces the reader to your topic and lay the foundation for your arguments
    INTRODUCTION

    1. In the introduction we have the hook which is an exciting and interesting first sentence
    to capture the reader’s attention.
    2. we have the background information which is 2-3 sentences giving basic information on
    your topic
    3. Then thesis which is one strong sentence that states your point and previews your
    arguments

    Each body paragraph will explain one of your main ideas that you laid out in the framework
    BODY PARAGRAPH
    Each paragraph should be 5-8 sentences

    1. Topic sentence: a sentence that will introduce the main idea of your paragraph
    2. The argument/idea: 4-6 sentences that state and explain your argument. These sentences
    should be clear and in logical order
    3. The conclusion sentence: a sentence restating your argument and wrapping up the
    paragraph

    CONCLUSION 1- The transition sentence: transition into the conclusion of your essay by writing a sentence
    that restates the issue/topic you are arguing about and your opinion
    2- Summarize the arguments: in 2-3 sentences restate your 3 main arguments
    3- Restate the thesis: wrap up your essay with one strong sentence that is your thesis re-
    worded
