Ben is a typical boy who lives in a small barangay in the City of Cauayan. As a kid,
he often watched his favorite hero characters who are gliding over the cities and saving
people. They wear their colorful costumes and covering their faces with mask just to hide
their true personality. He loves to watch heroes like Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder

“Really! So Tatay is a true hero too because he is a policeman and he is so brave”,

Answer Key
The theme is the central message or idea of a narrative. It tells the reader what the
literary piece is all about. It is expressed through what the characters say, do and think, and
through the actions that take place within the story. The theme is also revealed in how the
plot and setting of the narrative are constructed and presented.
The point of view is the perspective from which the narrative is told. This also refers
to the mode of narration that authors employ to let the readers hear and see what takes place
in the story.
Authors can strategically choose and allow them to develop the characters and tell the
story most effectively. They may choose to tell the story in three perspectives.
1. First Person Point of View involves the use of either the two pronouns, “I “and “We”.
2. Second Person Point of View employs the use of “You”, the writer uses onlooker who
is saying something about you-the reader.
3. Third Person Point of View uses pronouns like “he”, “she”, “it”, “they” or a name of a
character.

Behind COVID-19 pandemic there are amazing stories that I have seen over the
internet and in the news. One of these is about Chichi, once a stray dog who became a
COVID-19 Dog Frontliner.
UNTV News mentioned in its feature news that Chichi lives in Barangay 379 Zone
38 District, Metro Manila. When they interviewed barangay chairwoman Veronica
Diasanta, she said that Chichi arrived in their barangay in the year 2019. The dog is usually
found around Alergi Abad Santos Station. One day the followed a barangay executive
officer who was on his way to the barangay hall. Chichi stayed with them. They took good
care of her and trained her. The chairwoman also said that Chichi is a strict, smart and quick
learner. She is quick in spotting suspicious person and even scavengers. Because of her
skills and abilities, she became a frontline during the quarantine period. Chichi
accompanied barangay security and other barangay executives in their operations and relief
goods distribution. The barangay gave Chichi a frontliner ID for protection and
identification.
Being an adorable dog, Chichi is easily loved by the people around the barangay.
People claimed that Chichi is so affectionate and friendly. She knows everyone in the
barangay.

packed relief goods. They handed it to the LGU for proper distributions. School heads and
teachers did their part to help to the family of their learners by giving leaflets and pamphlets
as reminder of the ECQ Guidelines and Protocols. Some relief goods which funds comes
