beneficial diet for children, parents can be dampened very easily with the painstaking work they

expecting a child, you will be familiarized of whatever that is coming and prepare for developmental
stages as well as learning tips and tricks from experts. Not only can you acquire the basic skill-set of

philanthropy field is no exception to these benefits with their increasing appearance on
social media. This essay will further elaborate the causes of this upward trend and discuss
the positive impact of this notion.
To begin with, social media and telegraph are beneficial in promoting the charity field. In the
past, our predecessors philanthropic activities are rather restricted in terms of charitable
scale. Their lenience often stops at donating or doing volunteer work within the local
community which they inhabit, and their work is often closeted and unrecognized. Today,
with the help of social media, charities and activists can make their work known and
appreciated, hence, they become influentially exemplary to others in terms of doing

them a sense of satisfaction and achievement which drive them to continue promoting their

afar. For example, many websites have been devised dedicated to charitable work such as

fortunate people. The less work needed appeals greatly to many and this drives more
people to involve in charities or offer their money to activists who act on their behalf.
Secondly, more people have been assisted since charity’s debut on social mediums. The
ubiquity of social media makes known of the impoverished and destitute and their
backgrounds, thus, provides philanthropic activists more subjects to their assistance.
In conclusion, the surge in charities’ appearance on social mediums is primarily due to the
its efficacious usage of a widespread platform and the improvement in people’s living
standards and wealth. This is positive trend as it significantly enhances charitable work
simplicity and offer more aid for those who are less fortunate than ever before.

Topic 3: There is a problem today that copyright materials such as music, films and books are
freely available on the Internet with the result that the owners of the works lose money.
Do you feel that this is a good or bad thing?
Misguided use of copyrighted artistic materials via social media is a common problem for
artists today and it has brought both mental and financial effects to the owners of the
materials. From my point of view, this is a negative notion.
 Topic 4: The fact that enormous sums are paid for pieces of art is not acceptable at a
time when many people around the world live in poverty. Discuss this statement and
give your opinion.

Artworks have long been marketized with rather prohibitive expenditure. However, such
tremendous amount of money is considered irrational when impoverishment is still a common
issue in many countries worldwide. This essay agrees that buying artworks at large expense is
fallacious in the context of ongoing poverty.

The fact that a piece of art is precious and why many people are willing to pay such enormous
sums may attribute to many factors. Firstly, art acts a prism geared towards human’s revolution
and cutural development. If history and culture were to be demonstrated by words solely, we
would have difficulties in visualizing our predeccesors’ lifestyle and the life of those who live
beyond our geographical horizons. Art, like music, can also be seen as a global language in this
sense as it allows people from different cultures to communicate via images, brushstrokes, etc.
Secondly, a piece of art is the embodiment of an artist’s passion, skills and their main source of
remuneration. After devoting their time and imagination to finishing a piece, almost every artist
will want to sell them at a price that is worthy of the strenuous work they previously experience.
As for the motivation behind spending astronomical amounts for the aesthetic field, it can be
exerted by the thought of potentially profitable investments in artworks or the unadulterated
love for art itself.

However, when placed in the context of poverty and destitution, such price for a piece of
decoration is indeed unacceptable. Notwithstanding this, the situation is unlikely to change if
people are not aware that it is the society’s and authorities’ responsibility to assist the desitute
by ensuring that they are well-fed and well-educated to raise their status quo and social
standards as well as restricting factors that inhibit them from developing. While tremendous
amounts of money are being spent on exorbitant pieces of artworks, many less fortunate others
are being scourged by impoverishment. Poverty can induce many other issues such as pestilence
due to the the lack of proper hygene and money to afford medical care, or war because of the
shortage of supplies and resources. This will not only contribute to the widening gap between
the elite and the poverty-stricken but also the inadequate morals and virtues of the people
which can lead to the climbing rates of crime.

To summarize, art is undoubtedly valuable as it not only depicts the history and culture of
humankind but also illustrates the endeavor and ideas of the people. It is acceptable to say that
purchasing artworks is a form of preserving and improving cultural elements as well as
respecting the artist’s efforts and skills. However, such goals should be viewed as paramount
after the life and well-being of the masses are ensured and that the impacts of poverty are
resolved.
Topic 5: In some schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts subjects (e.g. literature),
and boys tend to choose science subjects (e.g. physics). Some people think this tendency
should be changed. Discuss this statement and give your opinion.

Obsolete and conventional beliefs stated that men are destined to be the breadwinner; whereas,
women belong in the kitchen. This deep-rooted conception has led to many parents deciding to let
girls study humanities subjects such as literature or art and boys majoring in subjects based on
science such as math or chemistry. From my point of view, I agree that this trend should be changed
for the following reasons.
On the one hand, this trend can bring advantages to both sexes. To begin with, students can choose
to focus on their favourite subject in this way. Many research suggest that girls prefer humanities as
these subjects is considered to be on the softer side and this appeals to women’s emotionality;
whilst, boys are more attracted to science-related subjects as they appear to have the same interest
in problems which deal with mathematical and analytical abilities. Hence, both genders can
concentrate completely on their preferred fields without being distracted by unwanted subjects, this
can also produce a variety of better academic outcomes. Moreover, this can restrict competition
among genders in their career paths. As different sexes have chosen prior what they want to study,
they will want to continue to use those knowledge when they begin working and such difference can
engender less emulation and stereotyped partiallity in the working environment. For example, in this
way, women can choose to become artists, authors, vocalists or diplomats; whereas, men ought to
become scientists, doctors, architectures, etc.
On the other hand, this obsolete trend can exert unwanted problems between the two sexes and
therefore, it should be altered for the following reasons. Firstly, women and men can excel in both
fields irrespective of their genders. Male and female have similar abilities and potential when they
are given equal opportunities for education. Scientists such as Marie Curie or artists like Van gogh
have proven this particular conception wrong with their outstanding performance and
accomplisments in their field notwithstanding their sexes or the current society’s belief. Moreover,
this propensity can induce gender discrepancy. As women are often associated with humanities,
many people, especially men, develop a mental idea that women are not suitable for particular jobs
which are science-related and the reverse can also be applied for men. Gender discrepancy may
cause psychological trauma and exposure to violence, poor performance in education and working
for both genders. Additionally, when focusing on one subject solely, there can be a disproportion in
the fundamental knowledge they are required to obtain. For instance, men may excel in science but
they can be clueless in history or etiquette and this can affect their communication and socializing
abilities in their adult life.
To condense, the trend of deciding subjects geared towards gender stereotypes may be beneficial in
some aspects. However, such benefits have yet to overweigh the disadvantages of this particular
tendency and therefore, this propensity in education should be uprooted and changed in the
direction of gender equality.
