This document contains three passages about understanding the self for a midterm. The first passage describes how prize money would be distributed among four members based on their contribution percentages. The second passage discusses how the Philippines is considered a collectivist country where loyalty and commitment to one's group is important. The third passage talks about how multi-generational conflicts can arise between younger and older generations when the younger generation pursues individual goals that ignore traditional collectivist ideas of their parents and grandparents.

The Philippines is regarded as a collectivist
country. This is shown in a long-term commitment to the member'group,' whether it be a family, extended family, or extended relationships. In a collectivist culture, loyalty is vital and takes precedence over most other societal rules and regulations. The society promotes deep bonds among its members, with each individual taking responsibility for the other members of their group. Offense results in humiliation and loss of face in collectivist societies, employer-employee relationships are viewed in moral terms, hiring and promotion decisions take into account the employee's in-group, and management is the management of groups. They offer educational materials for people of all ages. Ensure that people have a safe place to read, study, and gather. UNDERSTANDING THE SELF MIDTERM
A multi-generational conflict within a family is a
particularly emotional sort of conflict that exists on the border between collectivism and individualism. It frequently appears when a younger generation member begins to pursue a competitive objective while ignoring essential elements of their parents' or grandparents' collectivist ideas. The line where greed and selfish gain disturb an age-old focus on honor via giving and collaborative generosity is frequently the tipping point. I've gone through this dynamic a number of times, and it's quite stressful for the older collectivists who believe their offspring are pursuing a dishonorable goal. It isn't always for bad purposes. It's a combination of changing times and miscommunication in many cases. Younger generations become completely immersed in what is commonly regarded as a global approach to acceptable trade, but they fail to keep a firm grasp on the principles of social and corporate responsibility, which eventually become the focal point for appeasing both groups. This scenario will become more common as globalization progresses.
