Chapter II
The Business
Description of the Business

SatisFRIES” is made from sweet potato locally known as “Kamote” which is one

of the Filipino’s favorite snack. Sweet potato french fries make for a delicious treat,

offering an alternative to traditional potato french fries. Combination of sweet and salty

fries blends perfectly and the crisp that crushing through your mouth makes you forget

you name. Just take a bite and surely you will crave for it!

Location

“SatisFRIES” is sold inside the campus specifically in the school canteen at

Mindanao State University Maigo School of Arts and Trades (MSU-MSAT) to cater the

student industry. This is to ensure the convenience and accessibility for the customers.

It is fit for the students of MSU-MSAT because in the campus there’s a policy that once

you enter the campus you can no longer go outside during class hours. So, it would not

be a hard time for them to buy their snacks since satisfries will go roaming the entire

campus during snacks or break time.

Competition

The competitors of our business would be the school canteen. The campus had

2 canteens and one of those is selling fries too . But “SatisFRIES” has its competitive

edge against its competing product. First, its affordability and its benefits and the values

that it returns to the customers because of the richness of the nutrients that the
ingredients contained. It also adopt on the present need of the students when it comes

to food.

Proponents

The owners of the proposed business are Christian June Embolode, Jane

Ramos, Gladys Navarro and Juanie Hiludo. Before we came up to our ideal business,

we first contemplated on the things that we are good at in order to have a harmonious

flow as we start our business soon. One of our assets in this business is the knowledge

of Ms. Navarro related to food. She has National Certificate (NCII) in Cookery and

Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) . She will be the head in terms of cooking and other

necessary things specifically on the production of our product. On the other hand Ms.

Jane Ramos was a graduate of ICT track in her Sr. High school, her skills will be a

massive help in spreading our product online. As we all know that social media is one of

the biggest factor that influenced people nowadays and with her skills , it would be

great to have an advertisement on different social media platforms. Mr. Embolode and

Ms. Hiludo will be in charge in marketing , since these two are good in persuading

people and they have techniques when talking of sales. Overall, as the business starts

to run the decision making should not rely only to one person but rather than we will use

our joined forces for us to address the problems that might come as soon as we start .

profit, in other words those customers desiring to taste our sweet potato fries. The target
