The COVID-19 epidemic has spread all over the world. Approximately 215
countries have been affected by this virus. Stock markets, industries all over the
world, and big organizations facing economic crises because of the virus are
collapsing in some countries. COVID-19 has become humanity's living nightmare.

COVID19 is one of the most dangerous viruses in the world now. It belongs to the
Corona Virus Group. It started spreading in Wuhan city in China in December
2019. It spreads rapidly and it probably spreads through droplets. The symptoms
of the disease are very painful; they appear in about 80% of patients. On the
other hand, some people are infected but they don't suffer any symptoms, so
they blend with other people and unintentionally infect them. Therefore, it
spreads quickly and causes death for elderly patients. Also, what makes COVID-19
deadly and dangerous is that scientists have not found a treatment for it yet. "In
the meantime, scientists are working hard to develop effective treatments.
Therapies that are under investigation include drugs that have been used to treat
malaria and autoimmune diseases; antiviral drugs that were developed for other
viruses, and antibodies from people who have recovered from COVID-19"
(Harvard Health Publishing, 2020, para. 2). Currently, people are terrified that
they may get infected by the virus.

Life is totally different after the COVID19 virus. For instance, loads of people lost
their jobs in different places and various fields all over the world. Jim Zarroli and
Avie Schneider wrote in the New York Times that "That brings the total of jobless
claims in just five weeks to more than 26 million people. It's more than all the jobs
added in the past 10 years since the Great Recession" (Zarroli & Schneider, 2020,
para. 2), while other people work at home using meeting and conversation
programs. Families are in quarantine at home. Consequently, they have difficulty
buying household items, and they follow a restricted routine for home cleanliness
and using sanitizers. In addition, children can't attend their school's classes,
sporting clubs, training centers, or kids' areas. As a result, schools and teachers
have initiated using E-Learning programs and online applications, according to
Alisha Ebrahimji from CNN. "Students across the country are making the
transition to an online format to finish out the school year. It may seem like a mini
vacation to some, but for others, their workload just got a bit harder" (Ebrahimji,
2020, para. 1). Presently, days are the same as there is no going out with friends,
no family visits, or outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, corona virus cases are increasing on a daily basis, with over 4 million
cases and approximately 350 thousand deaths worldwide. Until now, the most
affected country is the USA. WHO has published a website for COVID-19 statistics
which is hourly updated, so people can find and follow all the information about
the virus.

Clearly, the outbreak of corona virus disease COVID-19 has created a global health
crisis. No one can predict what is going to happen or how this crisis will end.
Hopefully, scientists will discover or find a cure for this virus. Until the treatment
is discovered, people in charge must find effective strategies to help individuals
deal with social and physical distancing.
