Credibility Interview

Intention to Study Questions

Q1) Why do you want to study in the UK?
 First of all, I want to study in the United Kingdom as it is closer to my home country,
Pakistan, as opposed to other nations like USA, Canada, Australia, etc.
 Since I skipped my A levels on account of covid-19, I am obligated to study the
Foundation Program, a necessary one -year formality that has to be completed before I
pursue my Bachelors Program in UK. My offer letter covers both the Foundation
Program as well as my B. Sc in Computer Science. Secondly, UK boasts a Bachelor
program with a duration of just three years, as compared to other countries whose
Bachelor programs generally last for four years. Owing to family conditions, I will have
to return to Pakistan immediately, in the aftermath of completion of my Bachelors course.
Therefore, the three-year option is more feasible for me.
 Apart from that, UK is a pioneer of quality education with internationally recognized
universities that boast a brilliant success rate, especially in the course of Software
Engineering that I plan on doing my Bachelors in.
 Also, UK has a good quality standard of lifestyle with abundance of facilities.
 Last, but not the least, the diverse and the unique culture of the United Kingdom provides
me an amazing platform when it comes to studying with people from all over the world,
since diversity teaches you a lot in life. Hence, the UK experience will prepare me for
diversity management and go for top-notch service delivery.
Q2) What are the benefits of studying in the UK, as compared to your home country or other
countries?
 Firstly, I would prioritize studying in UK over other countries on account of the distance
factor. It’s just 8 hours away via flight. Owing to family conditions, I cannot afford to
study that far from my motherland, God forbid a domestic emergency develops.
 Secondly, the time factor is of utmost concern (one-year Foundation Program and three-
year Bachelor option in UK as opposed to a one-year Foundation Program and four-year
Bachelors formality in other nations). UK has economically feasible study packages
(tuition fees). The fee structure is competitive.
 Last, but not the least, I am prioritizing studying in UK over my home country as UK
provides comparatively higher quality education with a more effective research
infrastructure along with a plethora of opportunities and facilities. The scope of these
teaching faculties is limited in my country and may not equip me with the same level of
exposure and illumination that I would otherwise get by studying from a top-quality
institute in the United Kingdom.
Q3) How did you choose which university to study at in the UK?
 I did some background research on the Institute’s courses and campus culture, courtesy of
Wikipedia and other social media platforms. However, I also enlisted the help of an
agent/ Foreign Education Consultant who recommended me the London South Bank

University, located in Central London. I did not come across any university staff during
my hunt for universities.
Q4) Why have you chosen to study at the respective university?
 First of all, the university is located in Central London, which gives me easy access to
England’s Capital and its amenities, whenever required.
 I will literally be residing in the Heart of Great Britain. There is an incredible diversity of
people, settings and experiences awaiting us as a student from overseas. There is easy and
virtually unlimited access to our desired facilities, including but not limited to food,
museums and fine art. There is a lot here to tantalize student interest. Hence, the
university’s location is very idyllic and picturesque.
 Apart from that, the on-campus culture is very vibrant. The institute has solid ratings and
great undergraduate and postgraduate success rates, especially regarding my course (B.Sc
in Computer Science). They also offer a state-of-the-art foundation program. Hence, the
statistics back up my approach and I am positive that London South Bank University is
the right choice for me.
Q5) Which other universities did you consider?
 I did consider other universities such as University of London and the University of
Hertfordshire. However, unlike the above two, London South Bank University gave me
an early bird scholarship of 3000GBP. Plus, my relatives live in the vicinity of the
Institute which is an added incentive for me.
 If you look at all the main parameters that play an imperative role in one’s university
selection process such as distance from London, view of the city, on-campus culture,
courses and success rates, London South Bank University appears to be an appealing and
complete package for me.
Q6) Where is this university situated?
A6) London South Bank University lies at 103 Borough Road in Central London, SE1 0AA,
United Kingdom.
Q7) Do you know roughly how large/ big the respective university is?

studying on campus. Of these, more than 12,000 pupils are undergraduate students
whereas around 4,000 pupils are studying at the postgraduate level.
 The university has an Urban campus, coupled with an array of alliances and offers a
range of disciplines. On top of it, it is affiliated with the EUA.

South Bank University to provide, including but not limited to the following:

studied there in the past.
Q10) Why did you choose to study this course and how does it relate to your previous study? /
How will the course you have chosen help you in your chosen career path?
 I have some natural skillsets in this field and I mainly acquired this passion to study
computer science from my cousins who encouraged me to learn more about computers
since a very young age. I find it to be a very creative field.
 I passionately studied for my computers course during my A level trajectory and that
further tantalized my interest in this department. It is connected to my Bachelors Course.
 I plan on pursuing a career as a Computer Scientist in the long run. I look forward to
extracting practical knowledge from the courses in my Bachelors Program and use it in
assisting the upcoming generation in terms of research and development as well as
revamping and optimizing the current facilities in the field of computers.
Q11) What qualification will you receive?
 B. Sc in Computer Science from London South Bank University
Q12) How is your course assessed?
 My course will be assessed via regular attendance and assessment works, including but
not limited to projects, essays, presentations and unseen exams.
Q13) How long does your course last?
 My foundation program will last for one academic year whereas my Bachelors Program
will last for a period of three academic years.
Q14) Do you know what level your course is?
 My Foundation Program is a Level 5 course whereas my B. Sc program is a Level 6
course.

Q15) Did you consider studying any other course?

 No! Since day one, I was adamant upon pursuing the program of Computer Science in the
near foreseeable future.
Q16) After you have completed your course, do you think you will stay in the UK to complete
another higher-level course of study?
 No! I will not pursue another higher-level course of study in the UK in the aftermath of
the successful completion of my Bachelors Program. I will be returning to Pakistan
immediately on account of domestic reasons.
Q17) Will you need help finding accommodation?
 I have family linkages in the United Kingdom, who dwell in the vicinity of my respective
university. I will enlist either their help or the help of my agent/ foreign education
consultant who will get me up to date with the accommodation process, in terms of both
the pricing structure and the available options, be it on-campus accommodation or private
lodging.
Q18) Can you explain any gaps in your years of study or work?
 Unfortunately, there was a one-year gap period during the course of my academic
trajectory. Having completed my O levels in 2018, I decided to do a one-year internship
at my father’s software organization in Lahore for the sake of gaining technical insight in
the field of computers since I had a profound interest in it and wanted to specialize in this
field in the long run.
 In 2019, I planned on initiating my A level studies. However, being a private student, my
A level fees got refunded by my institute on account of the global pandemic covid-19 and
I was unable to give my exam which resulted in a one-year delay.
Q19) Does your university have a meet and greet service?
 Yes, London South Bank University does have a Meet and Greet service indeed. Apart
from that, it has the Open Day, where all new comers are given a detailed orientation,
with regards to the university and its culture and amenities.
 If you can’t make it to the Open Day, there is always the option of a self-guided tour
available.
 However, due to social distancing measures on account of covid-19, it would not be
possible to get a detailed tour of the departments and faculties. Hence, a general outside
tour of the campus will have to suffice.
Q20) Do you understand what your responsibilities will be as a Tier 4 student?
 I will avoid indulging in any work or business activity during the duration of my
Foundation Program in the United Kingdom on account of the student visa.
 I will do part-time work as specified on my visa during the period of my Bachelors
Program only. I will abstain from attempting to seek full-time employment.
