ACTIVITY 1: PHOTO-ESSAY PROJECT
Choose between your hometown or your current residence, then make a photo album
of its landmarks and landscapes, next write a simple essay on what you like and
dislike about the architectural state of your hometown or current place of residence.

There are so many stunning landscapes and sites in our area. The things I loved best
about our town's structures are that they are both beautiful and inexpensive. You
don't have to pay much money to go in or out, and the people are friendly. Bad things
get dirty as a result of irresponsible visitors who taint the environment and damage its
attractiveness. In my opinion, we all have a lovely place in our heads. I live in a
fantastic area that has brought me joy on several occasions throughout the years. But
I often get the impression that I'm the only one who enjoys this spot, and I'm not sure
if it'll be as nice as I remember it when I go back to view it. Maybe I imagined it to be
lovely.
ACTIVITY 2: REACTION/OPINION PAPER PROJECT
Which Filipino actors/actresses deserve to be national artists someday? Explain and
justify your answers.
● Vilma Santos is qualified as a national artist because she is a talented actress
who has won several cinema and drama prizes both in the Philippines and
abroad. One of the reasons she can be a national artist is because of this. He is
a Filipino who has made a significant contribution to the Philippine film
industry as well as to our country's art, thus I believe he is deserving of the title
of national artist.
● Sharon Cuneta is another actress who, like Vilma Santos, I believe qualifies as
a national artist because she has contributed significantly to the introduction
of Filipino films, not only in the films for which she is known, but also in the
field of singing. She is not just an actress, but also a well-known singer with a
number of hit songs, thus it is only right that she be recognized as a national
artist.

ACTIVITY 4: CITE 5 GAWAD SA MANLILIKHANG BAYAN ARTISTS AND BRIEFLY
DISCUSS THEIR SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS
1. Yabing Masalon Dulo - Yabing Dulo believes she is almost ninety years old. Her
identity card, on the other hand, shows that she is that age and that her
birthday is August 14th, 1910. Because the old ikat-memory dyer's is as keen
as razors, it is prudent to heed her advice. She is certain that she was born in a
place called Landan at some point in the past. Amgu-o, a community of a few
connected families inside Landan, currently a barangay, a constituent unit of a
town, was and is still known by that name. Amgu-o was a collection of houses
in the early twentieth century that were completely disconnected from the
national political structure. It was a steep, wooded area with streams
interrupted by boulders of various sizes. The trees were ancient at the time.
2. Teofilo Garcia - Teofilo Garcia makes it a point to wear a tabungaw whenever
he leaves his farm in San Quintin, Abra. People in the province's bordering
towns, such as Sta. Maria and Vigan in Ilocos Sur, as well as Laoag in Ilocos
Norte, stand up and remark on his distinctive, useful, and gorgeous headdress
that protects him from the rain and sun. A closer examination reveals that it is
built of local gourds that have been hollowed out, polished, and lacquered to a
bright orange shine to increase weather resistance. The inside of the hat is lined
with finely woven rattan matting, and the brim is accented with a delicate
bamboo weaving.
3. Eduardo Mutuc - Eduardo Mutuc is a silver, bronze, and wood artist who has
dedicated his life to making sacred and secular art. Churches and private
collections house his highly wrought retablos, mirrors, altars, and carosas.
Some of these works are rather big, reaching heights of more than forty feet,
while others are relatively modest and display extremely exquisite and delicate
craftsmanship. Mutuc works in modest circumstances for an artist whose work
is shown in cathedrals and churches. His studio shares space with a tailoring
shop in a corner of his yard. The river alongside his property overflowed after
the recent rains, flooding his workshop in Apalit, Pampanga and soaking his
woodblocks. Mutuc is unfazed by anything.
4. Uwang Ahadas - Life is shrouded in mystery. When presented with such a
situation, it's only reasonable to try to come up with a hypothesis. People used
to try to explain away many of these mysteries by blaming them on the gods or
the spirits back when hard science didn't exist. Rain and thunder became the
laments of a god abandoned by his fickle wife, while night and day became the
compromise reached by a brother and sister who both desired to govern the
world when their father died.
5. Ginaw Bilog - Hanunoo Mangyan, a Mindoro native, grew up in such a cultural
setting. Ginaw took it upon himself to preserve hundreds of ambahan poems
documented, not just on bamboo tubes but also on ancient, dog-eared
notebooks passed down to him by friends, already entrenched in the wisdom
that the ambahan is a gateway to comprehending the Mangyan spirit.
