    resources to student and families when necessary. They
    work as a team with the education staff to insure the
    health and safety of each child. HEALTH SERVICES
    IN SCHOOL

    and to be countersigned by the class adviser    before the scholar is admitted back
    to his/her classroom.
    4. MONITORING & INSPECTION

    5. REFERRAL
       - In case of persistent symptoms or illness, the school nurse informs the
    parents/guardians and class adviser of the scholars immediately.          Scholars
    will then be referred and brought to the nearest medical clinic or medical facility
    for further evaluation and management.
       If confinement is necessary , parents/guardians are advised to proceed
    immediately to the said medical facility.
    IMPORTANCE OF SCHOOL

    It promotes healthy development and
    wellbeing, helping students reach their full
    potential. School health nurses provide
    the service in partnership with schools.
    The school health service is free and
    confidential. Students learn better when
    they are healthy, safe and happy.

    The nurse is a leader in the development and


    evaluation of the school’s health policies.

    These policies include:

     health promotion and protection


     the management of chronic disease
     school wellness policies
     disaster management
    Services also appear to have cost benefits in terms of  mental health protection
    adolescent health and society as a whole by reducing  infectious disease prevention and
