A. Competence
1. Basic competence :
3.4 Distinguishing social functions, text structures, and linguistic elements of
several oral and written recount texts by giving and asking for information
related to historical events according to the context of their use.
4.3.1 Capturing contextual meaning related to social functions, text structure, and
linguistic elements of spoken and written recount texts related to historical
events
4.3.2 Compose oral and written recount texts, short and simple, related to historical
events, taking into account social functions, text structure, and linguistic
elements, correctly and in context

Listening

Students are be able to :

 Listening to friends while reading recount text

Reading

Students are be able to :

 Read and understand the structure of recount text (orientation, events,


reorentation), type of recount text (personal recount, factual recount, and
imaginative), the social function of recount text, and the linguistic elements.
 Read the examples of recount text that given by teacher

Writing
 Write a paragraph of recount text based on their experience.
 Write the result of interviewing their friend.

Speaking

Students are be able to :

 Present the recount text that has been made


 Practive the collaborative of using recount text
 Interviewing their friend about the recount text made by their friend
 Share and telling the recount text they got from the interview

B. Teaching and learning activities


1. Technique :
 Grammar-Translation Method
 Cooperative learning : three-step interview
 Question and answer
2. Class activities :
 The teacher introduces and explains to students about recount text. When
explaining about recount text, the teacher gives a translation for students to
make it easy to understand.
 The teacher give some examples of recount text
 Students read and understanding the structure of recount text and recognize a
lot of vocabulary in a book.
 Students are assigned to making recount texts based on their experiences.
 Students are divided into a group of four (Each person in the group has a letter
A, B, C, D)
 Students are assigned to interview each other about recount text they made.
(Person A interviews person B, person C interviews person D. When finished,
they swithced roles : Person B interviews person A, person D interviews
person C)
 Students are assigned to share what they learned with another team of two.
(for example : Person A share the result of interview person B)
 Students are assigned to do the assesment.
C. Assessment

Students are given the task of making a recount text based on their experience according
to the structure of the recount text.

B. Make a paragraph about the history you have, whether it's personal recount,
factual recount, and imaginative. However, before becoming a paragraph,
arrange the sentences according to the structure of the sections provided. Send

“Assignment 1” don’t forget to write your identity.
