17, 1521

Ferdinand Magellan,
a portuguese
navigator,
accidentally landed March
in the land of samar.
31, 1521
The first Catholic
mass was held in
Limasawa, an island
in the south of
Leyte. But may also

Jose Rizal, the
Philippine national hero,
was executed by the

Jose Rizal was polygot which means he's fluent in twenty two

latin, Spanish, Greek, English, French , German, Arabic, Malay,
Sanskirt, Dutch, Japanese, Catalan, Italian, Portuguese,
Swedish and Russian)and had a knack for switching from one
language to another when he was writing.

December after bombing.

of the Filipinos, Spain
surrendered the
Philippines (along with
Puerto Rico and Guam)
to the United States
exchange of $2o million Apri 4,
under the Treaty of 1942
Paris. The "Fall of Bataan" and
the infamous "Death
March" took placed.
Around 76,000
Americans and Filipinos
soldiers surrendered to
the Japanese in Bataan.
Around 7,000 to 10,000
November men perished.

Ferdinand Marcos was
elected as 6th president
of the Philippine Republic.
He made extravagant
spendings on public
works, building, roads,
bridges, health center,
hospitals, schools, and
putting up beautifications
projects.
