CULTURAL HERITAGE

Introduction

The local and oral history and historical and


cultural heritage of the different communities in
our country define the richness of our past. As
Filipinos, we are expected to take the
responsibility of preserving and promoting our
rich history and culture.

This session will guide you to develop interest


in your own local and oral history through critical
evaluation and concern in preserving and
promoting the historical and cultural heritage of
your own community.

Living History Session


Travelling Classroom (Imagined Educational Tour): (own locality)
Have an imagined walking tour in your own locality considering its
historical value. As a resident of the place, it is expected that you can provide a brief history
of the site using primary sources.\

E. Activities and Assessment

Task at Hand
For those with internet, do the following:
1. Prepare a powerpoint presentation basing from online sources promoting the historical and
cultural heritage of your own locality.
2. Form a group chat with members coming from different localities and promote the
historical and cultural heritage of your own place.
3. Make a reaction paper or critique of a particular historical site, shrine, museum, cultural
performance, indigenous practice or religious festival in your own locality.
For those without internet, do the following:
1. Conduct an interview about the historical and cultural heritage of your own community
through SMS or call. Prepare a transcript of the interview.
2. Conduct a conference call with members coming from different localities and promote the
historical and cultural heritage of your own place.
3. Make a reaction paper or critique of a particular historical site, shrine, museum, cultural
performance, indigenous practice or religious festival in your own locality.

F. Reflection

Make an essay showing your appreciation to the historical and cultural heritage of your
community.
