In 2 to 3 sentences per reflection question, answer the following questions, encode your
answers on the comment box of THEIR POST:

1. From viewing their dance videos, what laudable/ impressive things have I seen?

 I was amazed and in awe especially in the _____ part. It was unique and I like they
moved so gracefully with the music. I also love their facial expressions, of course when
dancing it is important to mind your facial expression because it signifies your feelings
while dancing. Which is the vocal point of dancing, to feel and to express as much as
possible. It was a nice experience to be looking at their performance because they
were able to define dance as an art through their choreography and their expressions,
as well as their editing.

2. How was the “UNITY Dance Song” emphasized in their choreography?

 They were able to emphasize unity through the different dances as what the dance
song is called “Unity Dance Song”. They were include the following dances and they
did a great timing on where to put specific dances to each stanzas or parts of the
music. I can say that the dances were chosen carefully and they placed it strategically
on specific places which is a great way to put emphasis about the Unity Dance Song.

3. What can I say about their performance?

 Their performance was great. All of the members did justice to the dance because
they performed it so well. I like how they move with the following steps and how they
carry out each type of dances. Their choice of steps are unique and it is something that
I rarely come cross which amazes me. I am always excited or looking forward to see
what is the next movement, or what that they will show in the video. There was no a
dull moment throughout their presentation. I really enjoyed everything that they did
and I think that I might learn their steps if I have some free time since I really liked it
so much.
II. MY GROUP’S DANCE VIDEO

In 2 to 3 sentences per reflection question, reflect on your OWN DANCE.

Answers for the following questions will be encoded in the comment box of your OWN
DANCE VIDEO:

1. My participation in the dance video allowed me to:

 My participation in the dance video allowed me to showcase my love for dancing and
it allowed me to express my skills in dancing too since I choreographed some of the
steps there alongside with my fellow co-choreographer. It also gave me the
opportunity to explore different dances and to analyze how I can incorporate multiple
dances in one type of music since with every type of music there is a corresponding
dance situated with it. It was quite challenging but at the same time I enjoyed every
moment of it, from planning the steps up until the execution or performance of the
unity dance.

2. What line/lyrics of the song caught my attention? Why?

 “Kay raming dahilan upang mag diwang”

This lyric really catches my soul simply because it has so much power in that one
statement. It is indeed true that there are a lot of things for us to rejoice or to
celebrate about, even the little things matter too. We tend to forget that sometimes
because we are always bombarded with a lot of trials and challenges, and sometimes
we are given so much hardships to the point that we thought of giving up because it is
too much to handle already. But let us be reminded that these negativities won’t last
forever. It will be gone someday and in the right time, we will realize why those
events need to happen. In the meantime, let us all try to survive despite of the
obstacles and live our lives to the fullest. We should also cherish the things that is
given to us and to be thankful for it no matter how small or big it is. Keep in mind that
there is still so much for us to enjoy in this life so let us keep on holding on until the
end.

3. To me, “SAYAW: The Unity Dance” midterm performance examination, signified:

 Just like what the title of the dance states, it focuses on unity despite of diversity. It
emphasizes how we could live in harmony even if there are differences between
cultures or beliefs and various aspects that comprises in our lives. The dance was able
to deliver a clear intent of unity, as well as it was able to give justice on the meaning
of unity. In the dance there were different dance forms and it was all combined in one
music. Even though the music was not the common music used for the following
dances such as contemporary, ballroom and ethnic dance (dances included in our
performance), those dances were able to blend well with the music unexpectedly and
in the end it turned out to be great. In real life, if we all have the interest and will to
live in peace with one another then it will definitely result in a society where
togetherness and integrity will be the vocal points of everything despite of the
differences.

4. What can I say about my group’s dance video?

 I am very impressed with the group’s dance video. They (my group mates) were able
to execute each step properly and the way they move to the beat of the music, you
can clearly see that they are enjoying the dance. There were no signs of pressure even
if it is considered as a midterm exam, all of us really had fun performing. The editing
was also clean and on point. The facial expressions are evident and in relation with
the following dances, when it comes to contemporary our facial expression is like
telling a story, our eyes glowed. In ballroom, our expressions are ecstatic. In ethnic
dance, our faces were serious to depict royalty and nobility and lastly in the chorus
part, our expression is cheerful and full of joy. Overall everything is precise and
beautiful. I’m proud of our work and of my fellow group mates, I am honored to say
that we all did our best.

5. Why and how come our dance and dance video made an impact on me?

 I never thought that multiple dances can be included with only one music-a music that
is mixed with different beats and melodies through every stanzas. It blended so well
with the following dances and everything was so harmonious. In real life, we meet
different people and we experience different things, but one thing that makes it all
worthwhile is because we are able to stand in unity with one another and the
differences even bind us together despite the common stigma that differences can
lead to contradictions, even if it is true at some points, at the end of the day we still
find ways to accept each other’s uniqueness and value the variations between us
because it can lead to the creation of a better society and a deeper understanding
regardless of culture, age, beliefs, morals and other aspects that comprises
dissimilarities.
