    Grendel was a monster that terrorized the king's castle in Denmark. Beowulf, a knight from another land, came to help defeat Grendel [1]. He fought Grendel and ripped his arm off, causing Grendel to flee back to his lake, where he died [2]. Grendel's angry mother then attacked the castle, killing another knight. Beowulf pursued and killed her with a special sword [3]. He later became king and ruled for 50 years, until an attacking dragon threatened his people. Despite being old, Beowulf armed himself to fight the dragon [3].

    THE LEGEND OF BEOWULF

    Once upon a time , there was a horrible monster called Grendel. He was half-man and half-
    monster. He lived in Denmark . One day , he went to the King’s castle . The king and his mem tried to
    kill the monter but their swords were useless. A knight called Beowulf heard about the problem and
    went to Dermark to help the king.

    That night, Beowulf and his men took off their armour and put away their swords and went
    to sleep. The monster came into the castle and killed a knight. Beowulf woke up and fought the
    monster , he pulled off an arm!. Grendel went back to his home in a lake and died. Grendel’s mother
    was very angry and the next night , she went to the castle and killed a knight.

    In the morning, Beowulf went to the lake .He killed Grendel’s mother with special sword.
    When he came back , the king was very happy and he gave Beowulf presents and money.

    Beowulf went back to his country and became a king. He was king for fifty years. But one
    day , a dragon came to his country , and it attacked people . It lived in a cave with treasure . The
    dragon was very big and breathed fire. The knights were afraid and they did not want to fight the
    dragon . King Beowulf was an old man but he put on his armour again and went to the dragon’ s
    cave with his men.....

    Ki Hajar Dewantoro was born in jogyakarta , on May 2, 1889. His real name was
    Raden Mas Soewardi Soerjaningrat.As a part an aristocratic family , Soewardi was free to
    enjoy his education . His recognition in the world of education was extraordinary.
    He always thought that education was one of the most important factors in freeing
    Indonesian people of suffering from colonization . He never considered his aristocracy
    important, instead he discarded his aristocracy and changed his name to Ki Hajar Dewantoro.
    He did that because he wanted to bring himself closer to people.
    Ki Hajar Dewantoro was honored as a” Bapak Pendidikan Indonesia” because of his
    ideas in the world of education . His opinions were modern although he lived in colonial
    times.He always thought that everybody had the right to education. He was also chosen as
    Minister of Indonesian Education under President Soekarno’s administration. His birthday is
    celebrated as National Education Day .( Hari Pendidikan Nasional)
