Introduction:
The Alumni Relations Committee was set up to strengthen the affable relationship among
alumni, students and faculty of DSNLU. The Alumni Relations Committee acts as a platform
to facilitate all forms of interaction with our alumni. Moreover, the committee persistently tries
to reach out to our alumni family through enumerable events such as virtual interactions with
well settled alumni, Alumni mentorship programs, guest lectures etc.,
About DSNLU:
With the growing importance of quality legal education, various national law schools acquired
a lot of importance. To meet the requirements of students of this State, the Government of
Andhra Pradesh decided to establish a new Law University and as per the decision of the
Council of Ministers meeting held on 30-06-2008 the Governor of Andhra Pradesh
promulgated the Andhra Pradesh University of Law Ordinance, 2008 on 8th July 2008.
Subsequently, the cabinet on 04-08-2008 approved the Andhra Pradesh University of Law Bill,
2008, replacing the Ordinance, and this Bill was passed by the State Legislature on 28th August
2008 and became an Act after the same was assented to by the Governor on 23rd September
2008. Thus A.P. University of Law came into existence with Visakhapatnam as Main Campus
and two branches at Kadapa and Nizamabad.
Further Andhra Pradesh University of Law” name changed as “Damodaram Sanjivayya
National Law University” vide Andhra Pradesh University of Law (Amendment) Act, 2012
(Act No. 15 of 2012) published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette Extraordinary dated 14th May
2012. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 63 dated 22-5-2012
that the 22nd Day of May 2012 is the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come
into force.
About ARC:
The DSNLU Alumni Relations Committee networks with DSNLU's distinguished alumni and
brings them closer to current students in order to bridge the gap between academics and the
competitive world. The committee also connects students with experienced professionals so
that they can become familiar with ever-changing scenarios. It ensures that students benefit
from the alumni network and legal experts’ expertise. It hosts approved workshops and
placement training sessions to provide students with real-world skills outside the specified
curriculum, with a focus on both personal and professional development.

Selection Procedure:
Applications are invited from the interested students through online by way of notification, in
response we received 47 applications, further to filter the meritorious and honest candidates
committee appointed an interview panel. Interview board consists of Ms. Soma Bhattacharjya,
Assistant professor & Dr T.Y, Nirmala Devi, Teacher Associate. Finally, after proper scrutiny
Out of 47 participants 10 members are selected. The following is list of ARC Members.

Opening: The first ever meeting of ALC was organised virtually on 2nd of August 2021 via
Webex, Chaired by Ms. Bhagyalakshmi and Mr. Jogi Naidu

Agenda: The agenda of the meeting was to discuss and make a final draft of plan of action
basing on the proposals of plan of actions made by the members of the committee.
