The following text is for quiestion 1 to 5
Durian
Durian is a common name for an evergreen tree. The common name is derived from the malayan word for the
tree`s fruit, duryon.
The durian tree usually grow to hights of 24 to 30 m (80 to 100 ft), although it has been known to grow to 45 m
(150 ft). The leaves,up to 17,5 cm (7 in) long,have silver-or copper-colored scales on the lower surface. The the flowers,
about 5 cm (about 2in) long. Have white,yellow,or pink petals and grow in clusters. The fruit requires about tree months
to develop; when it is ripe it drpos from the tree.
The durian fruits is often called the world`s most dangerous fruit. It is round or egg shapes and usually weighs
2.8 to 3.5 kg ( 6 to 8 lb). Its thick rind is green or yellowish and covered with hard, sharp spines. The fruit must be
handled by its stalk to avoid injury from the spines. A human or animal hit by a falling durian can be seriously injured or
even killed. Inside fruit are one to four large seeds, each up to 3.5 cm (1,3 in)long. The seeds are adible when
roasted,fried,or boiled. The rest of the fruit consist of custardike pulp that is foul smelling but is very tasty. The pulp i
usually eaten fresh but is also edded to cake, ice cream,and other foods. Elephan ,tigers, rhinoceroses, and other wild
animals are atracted by the odor of ripe durians and compete for fallen fruit.

One summer, a grasshopper spent his days merrily singing and dancing. Everywhere he hopped, ants were busy
gathering grains of wheat and corn, he loughed at the ants and said, “ How dull” Why don`t you sing and dance with me

“ we are storing away food for the winter,” they explained, “ you should do the same.”
The grasshper loughed and replied,” why worry about winter? I have plenty to eat for now.” And he hopped
away to look for someone to play with.
But when winter came, the garsshoper could find no more food. Shivering, he knocked at the ants door. “ Can
you spare me some seed?” he begged. “ I`m too cold and hungry to even sing!”
“ we work hard all summer to stor away food,” they answered. “ what where you doing?”
I was busy singing and dance,” he said. “ then sing and dance for us now!” they told him. “ It is your time to work for
your dinner.”
